Hello Niambi thank you so much for your comment on this post. I am so sorry that this has happened to you because of content that you read on my blog post. The content that I shared here, where link URLs are concerned is in relation to social media sites like Facebook and YouTube which is what I touched on when I gave suggestions as to how to promote your affiliate links. I did not speak about Pinterest in this post and would not provide advice on something that I am not versed on.

With regards to your issue, it’s worth adding that the most common problems these days with bloggers and Pinterest, is that Pinterest is identifying links as spam. Some say they have written to Pinterest about this, explaining that their website is not spam and they have gotten a resolution, so it may be worth trying that. I recently had a cloaked link blocked on Pinterest on a pin that I was promoting. All I did was delete the pin and recreate it with the true link and that got sorted for me.

While this was mostly good information, following your recommendation about using URL shortners got my PINS blocked on Pinterest. Well, the PINS weren’t blocked, but the links are and I am not able to change them back to my BLOG post URL. It won’t let me change the URLs back. So all of my PINS, even the ones that had thousands and thousands of impressions and get a lot of traffic are basically ruined, because then send people to a message that says ‘link blocked’ now! This is awful. I only changed everything up because of what I read in this blog! I can’t be the only one who’s experienced this. Please consider removing that information, or at least ad a caveat that using URL shortners can render any PIN you use it on USELESS! Honestly, my ears are ringing right now and I just don’t even know what to do to fix this!
