Udimi Solo Ads

I went from broke to finally earning an income online-minWhat Is A Solo Ad?

A solo ad is an email broadcast or simply put, an email, that a solo ad vendor sends to his email list.

An email list is a list of subscribers. So when you opt in to someone’s website to receive a free report or discount, you are joining that person’s email list.

The solo ad vendor would have built his own email list from efforts such as promoting a product on the internet.

He may have used sites like YouTube, Google or Bing Ads, to get people to join his email list.

Have you started building your own email list yet? Read my article How To Start Your First Email List From Scratch to understand why every marketer, even the beginner should start building their email list now.

Who Is A Solo Ad Vendor?

A solo ad vendor is someone who is monetising their email list, by offering marketers the chance to rent his list to send their offer of a product or service to his email subscribers.

Solo ad vendors have spent months, sometimes years building an email list of people who are interested in a particular niche. The good thing about building an email list in

a particular niche is that you can offer the people on that email list any product that you want and potentially make sales from that email list.

How Valuable Is An Email List?

The bigger the list, the more likely you are to get people interested in your product and this is what drives sales.

So let’s put this into perspective for you. Sales usually happen in this way:

Total number of subscribers 25,000
Total number of subscribers who open an email 45% x 25,000 = 7,500
Total number of subscribers who open the email and click the link 15% x 7,500 = 1,125
Total number of subscribers who purchase 3% x 1,125 = 34

Therefore if you had a product that cost $37 and submitted an offer to this email list, you could potentially make $1258 from the 3% of people who go on to make a purchase.

This is how valuable an email list can be.

Solo Ad vendors know this and therefore monetise their list by promoting it to marketers.

They charge marketers per click to send people from their list to your website. Therefore you will be paying for a subscriber to click on your affiliate link.

Udimi

Udimi is the brand of a network of solo ad vendors who protect its buyers by ensuring that a vendor provides quality clicks to your website as you ordered them.

If you decide to use any other solo ad company, then be careful of click fraud. This happens when a vendor sends robots, or what is known in the internet world as “bots”, to your website. This can be wasteful to you as no human actually sees your offer. Robots or bots do not convert into sales. They do nothing for you and this is what causes you to lose money.

Therefore if you decide to use any other solo ad provider be sure to research the solo ad provider and ensure that they are not fraudulent.

How Much Does It Cost To Use Udimi Solo Ads

Solo ad vendors charge per click so you can always research the vendor and look at their charges before you decide to purchase.

In the above image, on the right side you will see the stats for the particular vendor in green and red.

Solo ad vendors understand that their business is competitive so they always try to match their price per click to the quality of their leads. Depending on what your budget is feel free to test each vendor depending on their price.

In the image above the cost per click is represented by the cents symbol. So Matt Hayward charges you 40 cents per click.

Therefore if you wanted 100 people to visit your website you will be charged $40.00.

How To Choose Your Vendors For Best Results

Also pay attention to the vendors’ sales ratio. The higher the ratio the better chance you have at making sales on a first solo ad traffic run. In the above image again, the sales ratio is portrayed by the S in the green circle and the corresponding percentage.

So Matt Hayward has a sales ratio of 30%

Mark Lee has a sales ratio of 25%

Mike Dirnt has a sales ratio of 20%

Whenever I am using Udimi I use vendors that have more than 50% sales ratio. Therefore I will have a 50% chance that I will get a sale during a solo ad run.

However you must be aware that vendors do not guarantee sales, they do however guarantee clicks to your website.

In internet marketing leads usually come before sales so as long as you get that, you will understand the importance of building a list and building a relationship with your list by following up with them.

Udimi Testimonials

Another way to consider a potential vendor for your traffic is to consider the testimonials.

That is what I love about Udimi. It really protects its buyers so you can always base the vendor’s performance and credibility by the reviews that they get.

If you click on a vendor’s name you will see a testimonial that reads like this:

udimi solo ad testimony

So you will see that this vendor received good feedback. They got two thumbs up although the first customer got sales and the second customer got no sales.

You will also see that both customers got more clicks than they paid for. They paid for 100 visitors to their websites but actually got 135 and 137 visitors respectively.

This is a bonus as more people saw their websites and that over-delivery is free.

Udimi Statistics

Another important feature of Udimi is the detailed stats that they give for each vendor. You will be able to use these stats to consider whether the particular vendor suits you or whether you should move on to another.

udimi solo ad screenshot

As in the above example you can see that this vendor’s list has provided 5% of sales all round, 79% of good feedback and 16% of good feedback with no sales.

Personally I would not use this vendor because of the low sales to no sales ratio. I try to use vendors who have a 50% and above sales ratio.

What I would recommend is to go through each vendor carefully and look at their stats. Select 10 good ones then test each one.

Start with the smallest purchase of $50 and no more when testing.

Which Niche Does Udimi Serve

From the above image you will see that Udimi currently serves four niches. The marketing, finance, health and social niche. You can also filter vendors based on whether their traffic is solely on mobile devices.

1. Select the number of visitors that you would like to visit your website

udimi solo ad vendor visitors-min

You can select up to 1000 visitors to visit your page. However if you are testing a vendor that you have never used before, then I would recommend that you start small at 50 visitors to test the quality of the vendor’s email list.

2. Select the date when you would like your solo ad to run

udimi solo ad vendor date-min

Sometimes solo ad vendors become busy with orders so the date that you select will determine whether they can fulfil the number of visitors you have ordered.

So if you have selected 100 visitors and a particular date is not available, then select another date or lower or increase the number of visitors.

3. Add the necessary filters to your order

udimi solo ad vendor filter-min

Base filter saves your money by ignoring junk, useless or duplicate traffic and cannot be turned off.

Prime filter goes an extra round of advanced clearance on your clicks with Prime members only. This improves the quality of your clicks by 34%. You must pay an extra $0.03 per visitor for this service.

Only top tier means that you will only receive top tier traffic from the US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. You must pay an extra $0.10 per visitor for this service.

Only mobile means that you will only receive visitors who are mobile or tablet devices. This filter is useful if your offer is suitable only for mobile users or you wish to target only people on mobile devices. You must pay an extra $0.10 per visitor for this service.

No mobile means that you will only receive visitors who are on desktop only. This filter is useful if your offer does not work well on mobile devices. You must pay an extra $0.10 per visitor for this service.

4. Enter the subject and body of your solo ad

udimi solo ad vendor subject and body-min

This is where you will enter the subject of the ad and the body. You want to add an element of curiosity in the subject lines so that readers want to click on the email.

Let’s explore this further…

Solo ad subject lines

When we look at the subject lines of our emails we decide whether we want to open the email or not. So you will need to step inside the mind of your ideal offeree and consider what type of email subject line will convince them to open your email and read it.

Here are three examples

Good subject line “Get Your $0 Report On How To Earn $100 Per Day”.

There is no persuasion in this subject line. There is no curiousity and will fail.

Better subject line “5 Ways To Earn $100 Per Day”

Readers may be curious about this subject line and they may want to find out the five ways they can earn $100 per day. But I think it can be improved.

Best subject line “58 Year Old Earns $100 Per Day With No Computer Skills Whatsoever. Find Out How…”

This subject line is the best because it is very specific. The title is compelling enough to make the reader want to find out more about how a 58 year old with no computer skills can make $100 per day.

Solo ad body

Within the body of the email is where we would like the reader to click on our affiliate link. Therefore we need to make the text of the email as interesting enough to make them click.

When you are writing text for the body here are a few things to remember:

  • There should be no hype in your ad. People are sick and tired of hype. Keep it as real as possible.
  • Get to the point and avoid the fluff and babble
  • The language must be easy to understand
  • Avoid spelling and grammatical errors so check and double check before sending your ad
  • You must convince the reader that you have the perfect solution to their problem
  • There should be similarity in the text from your email to your landing page. So if your text says “learn how this 58 year old makes $100 per day” and one clicks on your link, I would expect to see the same or similar text on your landing page.

Here’s a brilliant example of email text for a solo ad:

Udimi accepts all major credit cards and PayPal.

A Few Things To Remember

Solo ads are a great platform to get traffic but there are few things you need to remember:

  • Solo ad vendors can only guarantee clicks to your website. They do not guarantee sales.
  • If you do not get any opt ins into your landing page then you should go back to the vendor and try and figure out the problem. To prove that you did not get any opt ins to your landing page you can use a tool called Clickmagick. Clickmagick allows you to track traffic from solo ad vendors and different traffic sources. It tells you whether your clicks are fraudulent and how many people took some action on your website, such as an opt in or clicked a specific link.
  • Therefore when using solo ad vendors it is a good idea to track your clicks to ensure that you are getting what you paid for. If you are able to prove that your clicks were fraudulent from the Clickmagick software you can always file a complaint against the vendor and seek a refund.
  • Clickmagick has a 14 day free trial so you can always try it and see how it works for you by clicking here.
  • If you get a low opt in rate, then your landing page is the problem and you should try to improve upon it. I always look for a 40% and above opt in rate.
  • To get profitable results you should always use traffic repeatedly. Once you have tested a vendor and he has proven to provide quality traffic, you can increase your order with him and ask him to send more visitors to your offer. This is called scaling.
