If you told me that three years ago, I would have told you to

…shut yo mouth! Ain’t nobody got time for that.

You see, when I started ever pursuing the idea of being my own boss back in 2014, joining other network marketing companies to add another income stream was a big NO NO.

They would say that it was impossible to promote two companies at the same time.

But… you know the saying “never put all your eggs in one basket?”

Well in network marketing, they did the opposite and encouraged it.

At the time it did make sense and I told myself that

sometimes it is best to focus on one thing at a time.

But… And There Is Always A But

As I moved on to other things I realised that I was capable of creating other income streams for myself and it was not such a bad thing.

I understood that sometimes you have to prepare yourself for the unpredictable. Financial security is a concern for most of us and the average person wants that protection for their family and their future.

If you have a job, what would you do if you were suddenly fired the next day?

With no income coming in, how would you pay the mortgage and the bills?

This is why it is so important to have that back up plan. Some people’s jobs are already demanding and to think of adding extra work can be a tedious thought.

But regardless, it is so crucial to the continuation of cash flow that you have another income stream that you can rely on if one fails.

Here Are 10 Ways To Create Multiple Streams Of Income 

1. Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is one of the easiest ways to create multiple streams of income.

|Blogs or Websites

If you have a blog or website, you can join affiliate networks to find products that you can review on your own website. If you do not want to do a review, then you can write blog posts where the product is the subject of the post.

For example, you may choose to join a fashion affiliate network and write a blog post about Fashionable Outfits for The Millennial Male Or Female. Within that post you can then recommend a few fashion pieces selected from the affiliate network where if the viewer clicks on the product and makes a purchase, you will receive a commission.

Some of my favourite affiliate networks are:

• ShareASale
• Panthera
• CJ Affiliate By Conversant (Formerly Commission Junction)
• Rakuten Marketing
• Amazon Associates

In order to start earning from these affiliate networks, you must sign up to them. Once inside you can search for any product that you want to promote then simply write a blog post and mention the product and offer your readers to try the product. Do not forget to include your affiliate link within the post.

|YouTube

Another good place to use affiliate links is on YouTube. If you have a YouTube channel you can always speak to your viewers about the products and recommend it to them.

A great way of promoting affiliate products on YouTube is by doing product reviews. This will of course require you to purchase the product before hand so you can use it, test it and finally give an honest opinion about the product.

If you are an affiliate for a digital product, like a training course, you can do a walk through of the product, showing your viewers what’s inside the course and what they will learn.

A lot of people love testimonials so this acts as a benefit to both you and the viewer – it’s a win win.

|What You Should Know About Affiliate Networks

The great thing about affiliate networks is that they are free to join. If you do decide to join any of the networks mentioned above, be sure that you have a proper blog or website created with content on it, as the affiliate managers do check them before they approve your application.

|Affiliate Programs

If blogging or having a website is not your thing then you can consider joining an affiliate program. An affiliate program is a stand alone company that allows you to promote their products directly and gives you all the tools and training you need to get started.

What I like about affiliate programs is that you can promote your affiliate link on any social media platforms, recommend the product to friends or family or you can learn how to send a lot of people to your affiliate link so that they may purchase the product if they choose to. Blogging or having a website is not necessary.

In order to promote affiliate programs however, you must own the product. That would therefore entail purchasing the company’s product. Sometimes this can start from as low as $5 and go all the way up to $5000 or even $10,000.

The good side to this is that you get a percentage of the sale when you refer someone to purchase the product. This can be anywhere from 50% up to 100% of the purchase price.

It is a great idea to purchase the company’s product because you can use the product and give honest recommendations to other people which may influence their buying decision.

Get The Step By Step Guide To Making Money Online

2. Write An E-book

Writing an e-book that contains content related to your niche can be a very successful way of producing another income stream that generates income passively.

However, there is a lot of work in the beginning that goes into creating an e-book.

But, it is not as hard as you think. Anyone can create an e-book, upload it to Amazon and sell it.

Firstly you need to have some creative thought in what goes into the e-book. Your e-book can be on any topic but you want to be sure that it is a topic that people are searching for or need help with.

Once you have made up your mind as to content, you can create a PDF document from a Microsoft Word file.

You can then upload your content on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing and put it for sale. If you are using Amazon be sure to look at the prices of other e-books in similar categories so that your price can remain competitive.

If you do not want to use Amazon, you can sell your e-book on your own website (if you have one) or make an arrangement for an affiliate network to host your book so that affiliates can promote it for you.

3. Sell Your Own Products On The Internet

Like the e-book idea, selling your own product is another way that you can generate an income passively.

It can be any type of product that you want, although the most successful products are those that help solve people’s problems.

Your product can be a physical product or a digital product and come in many different forms – a book, a DVD, a CD or software.

You can sell your product on your own website if you have one or arrange an affiliate agreement with an affiliate network to host your product for you.

4. Create A Blog And Monetise It

Blogging seems to be very popular and for good reason as many bloggers are making passive income from their content.

In order to make money from a blog you can monetise it with affiliate marketing as I mentioned above. A blog can be in any subject area but to ensure that it is successful you should focus on a blog niche that is highly profitable as not all blogs are created equal.

Here are six blog niches which are the most profitable and from which you can earn a full time income if it is created well:

• How to make money
• Personal finance
• Health and fitness
• Romance and dating
• Beauty and Fashion
• Hobbies and Activities

You can also monetise a blog with ads from Google Adsense. You must apply to Google in order for ads to appear on your blog or website.

One word of caution though, Google Adsense will only approve your application when you have a decent amount of traffic running to your blog.

If you do not want to use Google Adsense, you can also sell advertising on your blog depending on the amount of traffic it is getting. To sell advertising on your blog or website, you can use the website Buy Sell Ads which allow you to promote your own website for advertising gigs.

There are people who will pay you to place their own ads on a site that is receiving a good amount of traffic with the expectation that doing so will drive traffic to their own sites and offers.

5. Set Up A Store

Setting up an online store is really not hard. In my article How To Start An Online Clothing Store, I walk through the set up process with you step by step.

There are companies like Shopify, Woocommerce or Ebay, that make it easier than ever to launch your own store.

By selling products that people are passionate about and looking for, can help you to generate substantial revenue.

|Dropshipping

If you are worried about having to stock inventory or post items to customers then you may want to use the dropshipping model when operating your store.

Dropshipping is an eCommerce arrangement where you agree with a supplier to provide and ship the product to your customer on your behalf. This removes the requirement to hold inventory or worry about the shipping process as it is done for you by the dropshipper.

Whilst this model makes running an online store more effortless, getting started and building a profitable eCommerce business is a lot of work. I am not saying this to discourage you, but rather to manage your expectations. At the end of the day, nothing great comes easy right?!

6. Create An Online Course

Do you know how to do something and can teach it to other people?

Then think about how you can generate revenue for yourself with an online course.

There are many programs like Clickfunnels, that allow you to build out a website easily with drag and drop features, upload training videos and prepare your course ready for release.

I recently found a website called Teachable that also allows you to create online courses effortlessly. Teachable provides the platform for you to upload your content and easily integrate payment processors so your students can pay for your course.

What can you put in your course?

Anything that you can teach other people basically. It can include video “How To” lessons, mini e-books, audio lessons, checklists for completing steps recommended in your videos or expert interviews.

The opportunities are endless.

Now whilst the idea of creating a course is the easiest thing that anyone can do, it is a lot of work in the beginning.

You have to prepare course materials and video content but hey, after all the hard work comes the easy part. Simply promote the course on the internet and generate an income passively.

7. Freelancing

If you can do certain tasks for other people and get paid, then why not?

Websites like Upwork, Fiverr or Elance allow you to promote yourself for jobs that other people want completed.

If you are creative or have a special skill or talent, set your own rates and get yourself hired.

Whilst this is not a passive income source, you can earn a decent income to get cash flow running by which time you will be able to fund other income opportunities to create more passive wealth.

8. Build An App

Almost everyone has a smartphone.

Why not take advantage of this and build an app that helps people solve a problem and make their lives easier.

There are billions of app downloads everyday.

If you know nothing about building an app you can hire a developer to do the job for you. The outlay might be expensive but if you have a professional-looking app that helps people, think about the profits you can make.

An app is just one of those products that you can put on the internet, like Apple Itunes or Google Play and generate massive income passively.

9. Start A YouTube Channel

300 hours of video are uploaded to You Tube every minute and there are 32.5 billion hours of video watched every month.

Many people are turning to YouTube to create an income.

How YouTube works, you upload videos that people want to see.

In fact, any type of video can generate tons of interest helping you earn an income.

You must also enable Google Adsense on your channel so that if someone clicks on an ad, you get paid.

The type of videos that are popular these days are music videos, how-to videos, comedy videos, lifestyle videos.

The key will be to create as many videos as possible to attract an audience of people who come back to your channel so that you can create a decent income.

10. Sell Your Pictures

Do you like photography? Well sites like Shutterstock or Canva allow you to use their platforms to sell your photographs to users who are looking for visual displays.

A single image can generate a passive income for you if it is being used over and over by millions of users across the web.

The good thing is, you only have to do the work once and then let the platforms do the heavy lifting for you.

Whether it is for college, to invest in a bigger project, for spending at the shopping centre or buying food, clothes or video games.

I remember when I was in my teens, we did not have all the opportunities that exist right now, to make some spare change.

We relied on our parents for an allowance and even if we could go out and get a “small job” at the grocery store, it depended on whether we had spare time to do so.

All the online opportunities for teens to make money today, did not exist back then.

I am pleased to be able to share this list with you, so you can get some more ideas for your kids, if you are a parent or for yourself, if you are teenager.

1. Clean Houses

Teens who charge less than professional maid cleaning services or who assist established cleaners will be able to regularly earn money via this option.

To get started simply hand out flyers in your neighbourhood letting your neighbours know that you are interested. A more effective way is to go door-to-door and ask your neighbours if they need help cleaning their homes.

2. Babysitting

Although this has been included on lists of good jobs for teenagers for years, it should not be discounted as babysitters will always be needed regardless of changing job markets.

You may need some references if parents are going to trust you with their kids. I recommend that you start with one parent, do an awesome job and make sure you get a written reference letter. That way, you can use it to book more jobs with other parents.

3. Swagbucks

Using Swagbucks‘ search engine, earn teens Swagbucks, which, once accumulated, can be redeemed for gift cards. You can also earn free gift cards from shopping online, watching videos or taking surveys via the app.

Whilst you will not earn huge amounts of cash with Swagbucks, it’s a really nice way to get rewarded for doing the things you love.

4. Paper Delivery

Although the demand for paper deliverers is not as high as it used to be, people are still subscribing to newspapers and still need them delivered.

To find a job as a paper deliverer, you can start in the classified ads of your local newspaper. If you don’t see anything there then contact the newspaper by finding a contact number for their Circulation Department and enquire if they have any job openings.

If you are still not lucky, check the notice boards of your local grocery store to see if they are looking for “paper carriers” or “paper boys”.

5. InboxDollars

This online option provides an easy way to earn some money by providing feedback on a variety of things. Like Swagbucks, you can earn money for watching television online, shopping or taking survey.

Brands actually pay InboxDollars for customer input. InboxDollars find those customers and pay them for participating.

6. Create A Website

This is an especially good option for those already well-versed in navigating the online world. Options include starting a blog or website about subjects that teens and others are passionate about.

7. Pet Care

Similar to babysitting, this option provides teenagers with the opportunity to watch others’ pets. This can be while the owners are on vacation or simply to take the animals on walks.

To get started, ask neighbours or family members if they need help with pet-sitting.

8. Tutoring

Tutoring is something that can be done both online and offline. Any subject that a teen is knowledgeable about can be used as a tutoring focus.

If you are good at what you do and would like to start tutoring, I would recommend starting with a school. Contact the dean or principal of a school and find out if there are any tutoring opportunities for teenagers.

Online platforms that you can join include:

• SkillShare
• Udemy
• Skillholic (UPDATE: Skillholic’s website no longer works so I have removed the link.)
• myTutoring
• Tutor.com 

9. Start A YouTube Channel

This may not be an option that will result in immediate funds, but the potential is there for it to provide regular income if the number of viewers impresses to appreciable levels.

You can start a channel in a particular interest such as gaming, entertainment, sports, etc. then monetise it through YouTube’s Partner Program or through affiliate marketing or your own products.

10.  House Sitter

Knowing somebody that will have an empty house for a period of time can result in a teen being paid to watch it. This might require a few hours a day or simply moving in if it’s a holiday period.

Of course you need to be trusted by the person who hires you, so you may want to start with neighbours, friends or family.

11. Buy Low and Sell High

This may be basic economics, but not everybody is talented or willing enough to do it. Teens who know the true value of things can make money doing this.

The concept here is that you can buy items at a low price and sell them higher on sites like Amazon, Ebay or your own website.

This is how one 28-year old was able to make over a million dollars buying inexpensive items from Walmart and selling it on Amazon.

12. Create An Instagram Profile

Similar to YouTube, those who cultivate an extensive and engaged following on Instagram can receive pay or goods from interested parties for posts.

This does require a high following with a lot of engagement. Do not be tempted to buy your followers. I do however recommend an automated service which helps to connect you with real followers who are interested in your content.

These services engage with accounts with a high following and encourage those followers to follow you on Instagram. If your content is worthy then you will retain your audience. 

You can then monetise your audience through sponsored posts (people who will pay you to make a post on behalf of their company) or through affiliate marketing.

13. Bake Sale

Another oldie but goodie is a bake sale. Use a stellar recipe, bake something tasty like cookies, cake, cupcakes and start selling it.

You can set up a stall in front of your home or at a carnival if there are any. Make sure to ask your parents to find out if there are any food permits that you may need. 

If baking is not your forte then lemonade juice stalls are still teenagers’ favourites.

14. Wash Cars

All that is required to wash cars are buckets, soap, rags and a window cleaner.

Start in your neighbourhood by asking neighbours whether they want their cars washed. A good tactic is, if the local car wash charges $10 for a simple wash, then make your price lower, like $8 or $9.

15. Take Online Surveys

Several websites pay survey takers, providing another way to make money as a teenager. Some are open to those as young as 13, and many are geared to teenage-related topics.

Join as many survey sites as you can. Some great survey sites to try include:

• Vindale Research
• Survey Voices
• Pinecone Research
• Survey Junkie
• Survey Club
• Ipsos Panel 

16. Yard Sale

Another way to earn money is by selling the things that teens own, that they have grown out of and no longer have any interest in, at a yard sale.

Announce the yard sale to your local area, set up a stall and you’re good to go.

17. Work at a Restaurant

This is an option that has been around for a while, but it’s still a valid one for teens today. Both fast food and sit-down restaurants should be considered.

Restaurants looking to hire, usually have a noticeboard where they make the announcement. You can also visit your favourite restaurant and find out if they have any odd jobs that they are hiring for.

18. Camp Counselor

Although these are usually only available during the summer months, being a camp counselor is a great option for those looking for more money then.

You can look at school noticeboards to see when their camp is being held and enquire within as to whether they would want a camp counselor.

19. Mow Lawns

Another seasonal opportunity is mowing lawns. Many adults prefer to just pay someone to mow their lawn than do it themselves and are happy to see a teen offer.

Getting lawn mowing jobs usually start in the neighbourhood so ask your neighbours whether they need any assistance with their lawns and offer a fair price for the job.

20. Fiverr

One of the best paying jobs for teens is working with Fiverr. This option is an especially promising one for those talented with things like drawing, video making or writing.

There are many small business owners who go to Fiverr to find people who can perform creative tasks for them. You can set your own price and accept as many jobs as you want.

21. Etsy

Teens who are talented at making crafts should sell their creations on Etsy. Things bought at thrift stores or created digitally can be sold here too.

22. Upwork

This is another great option for teens ages 18 and 19. It’s best for those who have talent in things like writing, graphic and web design.

Similar to Fiverr, you set your own prices here and can accept as many jobs as you can.

23. eBay

Those who are wondering how to make money as a teenager should also consider eBay. Just about anything can be sold here.

If you don’t know where to find products to buy, look around your house for fairly used items and list it on eBay. You can also sell brand new items, so buy inexpensive goods from stores like Walmart or Target and sell it at a profit on eBay.

24. Tumblr Theme Creator

Teens who already spend a bit of time at Tumblr, likely know how to design quality themes and, as a result, can earn some money creating those for others.

25. Shopify eCommerce Store

A list of high paying jobs for teens would not be complete without this one. Users can create an eCommerce store and sell products there.

When you start an eCommerce store you can employ the drop-shipping method, where you do not keep goods in stock, but instead transfer your customer orders and shipping details to a manufacturer who will fulfil the order for you.

26. Grocery Store Employee

Every community other than the smallest ones has at least one grocery store, and teens are generally a significant percentage of their work forces.

Start with your local grocery or supermarket and see if they are hiring.

27. Referee or Umpire

Playing the mediator in a variety of youth sporting events is another option for earning money for teens. Maybe your local sports club or school is looking for referees.

Start there.

28. Movie Theater Worker

Many of those creating lists of how to earn money as a teenager will include this famous one as movie theatres regularly hire teens for a number of positions.

From ushers, to food stall workers to cleaners. Apply to your local movie theater and see what they have to offer.

29. Music Xray

This website provides teens with the opportunity to earn money by listening to music and sharing their opinions on it.

Music Xray connects new music to potential fans and compensates you for your time and attention when you listen to it.

30. Assisting the Elderly

Helping out the elderly is another great way for teens to earn money as many seniors either need to remain home or simply prefer to do so.

If you have an elderly neighbour you can ask if they need assistance with household chores and work out a pay scale where they can pay you for your time.

If your neighbourhood is not ideal, then focus on your local home for the elderly and see if they have any openings that you can apply for.

31. CafePress

CafePress offers teens the opportunity to sell designs for things like shirts, pillows and coffee mugs. This is a marketplace that allows their customers to buy unique print on demand products.

32. Userlytics

Mobile apps use Userlytics to pay teens and adults to use, test them and provide their opinions on what worked, what didn’t and what could be improved.

Small start up owners and even larger corporations, use Userlytics to get customer insights into their websites, prototypes, advertisements or videos before it is released to the public.

Testers get paid differing amounts from $5 and even up to $90 for their feedback.

33. Scanner

As the world becomes more and more digital, many older people have photographs that they want digitized. Consider offering this as a service to help those people who are not so savvy with computers and the internet.

All you need is a scanner and a sign that says you’re opened for business.

34. Genealogy Researcher

Many teenagers do quality genealogical research, much of which can be done online. Being a genealogy researcher does not require any type of formal degree but research skills do give you an advantage.

If you would like to become a researcher, it is recommended that you participate in many genealogical conferences. These conferences will help you educate yourself so you are ready to take clients.

35. Online Customer Service

Companies such as U-Haul regularly hire teens 16 and older as customer service representatives who work from home via a high-speed internet connection and headset.

Most customer service representatives help customers with their questions and educating them about the company’s products. If you are interested in applying for online customer service jobs a quick Google search can bring back numerous results.

36. Jingit

Teenagers of any age can earn money at Jingit by doing things like watching online ads and taking surveys.

Simply sign up for Jingit, watch videos, give your feedback and earn instant cash. (UPDATE: Jingit’s website no longer works so I have removed the link.)

37. ThredUP

If gently used clothing from places like Banana Republic and J. Crew are in a teen’s closet, selling it at ThredUP is a great option for earning money.

ThredUp is an online consignment and thrift store that allows you to sell high quality second hand clothing.

So if you’re having a clear out, simply bag your items, leave it for the mail carrier and once your items are processed you will receive cash for any clothing that ThredUp accepts.

38. Amazon Turk

Those who are 14 or older are eligible to earn money by performing a variety of small tasks for Amazon Turk.

How it works, small companies that have computer-based tasks, hire you to perform simple tasks that you can do better than a computer.

You can choose from thousands of tasks, control when you work and decide how much you earn. To get started with Amazon Turk click here.

39. Lifeguard

This is an opportunity that is normally, but not always seasonal. Pools regularly hire lifeguards while some beaches do so as well.

If you know how to swim and wish to help out at a local community swimming pool, then be sure to contact the Pool Manager to see if they hire.

40. Amusement Park Employee

Many amusement parks prefer hiring teens as they tend to have a lot in common with the clientele that they are looking to attract.

Amusement park work can be a great way to pass time as well as be part of a fun environment.

41. Music Lessons

Teens who are musically talented can earn money teaching others how to improve their own skills. You can provide lessons in private, such as one-on-one tutor style, or you can teach a class at a summer school. 

A good start will be at a local school or even in your own neighbourhood where you can advertise with flyers that you provide music lessons.

42. Athletic Coach

Teens can often earn money by coaching sports teams comprised of children who are usually younger than them. You may already perform well in a sports club and want to help other students improve their performance.

Check your sports club or local school to see if they would be interested in hiring you.

43. Avon

Teenagers, like adults, can earn money selling Avon makeup.

Avon is a direct selling company that sells beauty, household and personal care products. To earn money selling Avon products, you must join as a direct sales consultant where you will be provided with a sales consultant starter kit.

You can then refer people to your website where, once a purchase is made, you earn a commission.

44. Farmers Market

A local farmers market is a great venue for a teenager to earn money. This can be done by bringing things like baked goods or arts and crafts to sell.

45. Qriket

Another online option for earning money that is available for teenagers is this one. Participants watch short ads and spin a wheel to determine the amount earned.

To start you must download their free app. Spin the wheel to join a live game show and then play to earn points. Whoever has the most points win cash prizes.

46. Collect Cans and Bottles

The internet has become so good now compared to what it was ten or twenty years ago. Survey Junkie helps you influence brands to deliver better products and services. When you join survey junkie you will build your profile and they will match you with relevant surveys. Once completed you earn points which you can then redeem for cash and that’s it.

Opinions USA share your opinions on a wide variety of topics including food, health, shopping, financial services and much more. You are then rewarded in points which you can redeem for gift cards, electronics from places like Amazon, Target, Starbucks or Amex to name a few.

There are so many survey websites that allow you to make money online however I chose the ones who have a good reputation amongst its participators and do not have impossible or difficult policies to cashing out.

I would recommend that you set up a separate email address for your surveys so they do not clutter your current inbox.

You may want another part time job to supplement your income from a full time job or you may just want another job.

All it takes is for you to spend some time figuring out where you can help other people, write a compelling offer, then wait for people to knock on your door.

Freelance services can be in the photography, design, music, lifestyle niches or any other niches where you can express your creativity.

For freelancing you can start with Fiverr, PeoplePerHour.com or Upwork.

When you start, you get to set your own rates. That’s the good thing that I like about these websites because it allows you to state a price where you deem what is truly your worth.

When you are setting your own rates however, make sure they are competitive for your level so that you receive initial offers. As you start to grow your reputation on the websites and build up reviews and experience, then you can increase your prices to reflect what you truly want.

Because these websites are free to join and start selling your services, there is a condition that the site takes a portion of your fees when you get paid. For example, Fiverr takes a 20% cut of your rates so make sure and factor this into your price.

Start A Blog

Starting a blog is more time intensive but it is also a rewarding venture. When you blog, you are essentially sharing your knowledge with the world.

People will see you as an expert in your field based on the content that you put out. Just like you may have a social media outlet where you make educational posts on a particular topic, a blog allows you to do the same but gives you more opportunity to grow your income into hundreds of thousands of dollars a month.

A blog can be just about any topic in the world, so if you find that you can write endlessly about a particular subject because you are very knowledgeable about it, then you can start a blog and share what you know.

In today’s blog post I am going to talk about FlexOffers and provide a detailed synopsis of how I was able to use this affiliate network to earn over $10,000 in affiliate commissions and how you can make money with FlexOffers.

There are many ways that you can promote affiliate products but I have found the best way to do that is through a valuable blog post that teaches your reader something educational.

But the difference with this case study is that I did not have one of those traditional blogs. Like this one that you’re reading.

I wanted to create something that was fast and easy to get started in very little time.

When I started this campaign, all I wanted to do was test the affiliate product to see if it would generate any interest. The quickest way to do that without a traditional blog was to create a small blog post and drive traffic to it to see if it would produce any sales.

You will notice that the brands that I just mentioned are in the fashion, beauty and hotel niche. This means that there is a wide range of programs to suit almost every niche. 

To sign up with FlexOffers you do need your own website to get started. I do not know how they select their affiliates and whether they expect that websites should already have sufficient content on it to join but this is what FlexOffers said:

From the above it would appear that even if you have very limited content on your website, as long as you explain how you are going to promote their products and are very detailed as to your traffic sources, this will give you a good chance at being accepted onto their platform.

Take note of this and take your time when applying for their program.

There is no secret to getting accepted with and making money with FlexOffers but here are a few things you should know:

• Give truthful, honest information
• FlexOffers want people who know how they are going to promote their products. So have a plan and be sure to be as detailed as you can when you state that plan in your application to increase your chances of being accepted.
• Give accurate information. Don’t worry if you make a mistake. You can always contact them after you have submitted your application and inform them of the error.
• Read their terms and conditions carefully to ensure that you can comply so as to avoid violations and termination of your account.

What Are The Best Products To Promote With FlexOffers

In my view, the best products to promote are the cost per lead products.

Cost per lead, means that you will earn a commission when your traffic opts into the advertiser’s product form providing their name, contact details and other information which the advertiser requires from the lead.

This means that your audience is not required to make a purchase in order for you to receive a commission.

I find that cost per lead programs are one of the easiest ways to make money from affiliate networks as all that is required is for the lead to enter their information which is a much easier, no obligation task for the lead to perform as opposed to taking out their credit card and buying a product.

To find cost per lead items, once you are in the FlexOffers Publisher area, click on Advertisers then Search Advertisers.

Scroll down to Payout Type then tick the Cost Per Lead box and click on Search.

This will bring up all the affiliate programs that are paid on a cost per lead basis.

If you want to filter the search results based on your niche, you can enter keywords or select categories to help you narrow the search results.

How To Promote The Affiliate Product Through A Blog Post

You can promote an affiliate product by linking directly to the affiliate program but I find that the best way to make money with FlexOffers and well, any affiliate product is with valuable content.

Valuable content allows you to educate and inform your visitor about why they should take a particular action. People are more likely to act when you teach them something and they understand why the action is necessary, both as a benefit to them and what could happen if they do nothing.

Valuable content can come in the form of a sales funnel where you capture the lead’s information on a lead capture page, then take them to a bridge page where you educate them on how to do something and send them off to the affiliate product.

However with cost per lead programs it can be quite tricky when you ask for the lead’s information through your own sales funnel, then ask them to provide their information again through the advertiser’s lead form.

So what I like to do, which has reaped tremendous results for me, is write an educational blog post that recommends the affiliate program (kind of like this one you’re reading).

So when your audience clicks through to your links, they are taken to the affiliate program where they are only required to enter their details once.

Whatever way you decide to promote the program, I recommend that you always use your own landing page before sending the traffic to the affiliate program. What this allows you to do is:

• You can either capture your traffic’s information by using your own lead capture page. This will help you build an email list to which you can remarket and follow up with the lead.
• You can add retargeting pixels to your landing page, which will allow you to retarget and remarket to your visitors.

How To Get Traffic To The Affiliate Program

There are many ways that you can get people to see your promotional content. You can get traffic from Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest or search engines.

When promoting my own blog posts, I use Facebook Ads as well as Bing Ads. Before you spend any money promoting the affiliate program, make sure that you know what the earnings per click is (EPC).

Earnings per click is a metric provided by affiliate programs that give you insight into the estimated earnings that you can achieve for every 100 clicks you send to the affiliate program.

This metric is determined by the average earnings earned by affiliates over a certain period.

FlexOffers measures this over a 7, 30 and 90-day period.

By knowing what your earnings per click metric is, you can ensure that you run profitable ad campaigns where your cost per click falls below the EPC.

For example, if you place an advertising campaign with Facebook and you ask Facebook to send people to your landing page, look out for the amount that you are spending per visitor.

This is measured by the cost per link click metric (or cost per landing page view) on the Facebook platform.

If you are using Bing ads, see how much each link click costs. Look for the “average CPC” metric.

As long as the advertising platform’s metric is below the EPC of the affiliate program, you can ensure that your campaigns will remain profitable if you are getting conversions.

How I Earned Over $10k In Affiliate Commissions From FlexOffers In 2 Months 

When I started with FlexOffers I chose an affiliate program that was paid on a cost per lead basis. That program was the Credit Sesame offer.

Next I wrote a blog post about Credit Sesame to include the features, benefits, why I used it and why I recommended it.

I used Facebook ads to drive traffic to the blog post by targeting people who I thought would be interested in a website app that helped them improve their credit score.

My cost per click was under $0.25 and went as low as $0.17.

To get my cost per click low I paid attention to my ad’s text by making it personal and relatable. This would ensure that a lot of people who saw my ad were first attracted to it and then engaged with it to drive down my costs.

I started this campaign at $5 per ad per day to first test different interests and see what worked. I initially tested eight different interests and when I got my first conversions, I looked to see which interests were converting.

I then turned off those that were not performing.

The ad campaign ended up running for approximately three months and I achieved a final return on investment of x2.7.

The final amount earned in affiliate commissions was $10,266.

Other Features of FlexOffers

Some things that I love about FlexOffers are:

Dedicated affiliate manager. I have an affiliate manager who helps me find the most suitable affiliate offers. They are also the go-to person if I wish to negotiate an increase in my commissions.

Ease of access. FlexOffers has online chat support features and you can reach their office by email or by telephone if you have a question. I have not had a problem speaking to someone although at one point I did have to follow up with their Accounts department after not receiving a response for seven days.

During the follow up, they answered my questions satisfactorily and were helpful in addressing my concerns.

Reliable payment. Although I am not a fan of their Net30 or payment when they receive commissions from the advertiser, they are reliable. I started with FlexOffers in January and received my commissions for the month of February at the beginning of April. This is usually the case with most affiliate networks. Some pay you on Net30 terms and others pay you on Net7 terms. I must add however that FlexOffers do have Net7 payment terms but you must have sent them quality traffic for two months and earned at least $5000 in affiliate commissions during each month.

Ease of payment. You can receive your affiliate commissions via PayPal or if you live in the US you can receive payment via cheque or direct deposit.

FlexRev-$hare. FlexOffers has a referral program where if you refer publishers who are approved, you can earn a percentage of their affiliate sales.

Wrapping Up       

Anyone can make money with FlexOffers if they want to. They are a trusted affiliate network that provides thousands of affiliate programs that you can promote for a commission.

At the start, Fiverr is not a platform that you can use to earn passive income. Your income can be capped if you are providing the skills yourself.

If however you outsource the skills to other persons, then there are ways that you can create a passive income stream using this avenue but this post is not about that.

This post is for those who are willing to trade time for money but still earn a full time income from home.

To start your business with Fiverr you need to first think about the service that you want to provide.

It’s important to note that Fiverr takes 20% of your compensation that you get from each sale. So what I like to do, is factor this into my prices.

For example, if I would like to get $200 for writing a 400 word blog post, I would start my gig at $250. So when Fiverr takes their 20% cut, I would receive the amount that I am happy to accept.

If you don’t do that you will be disappointed by the final amount you receive. This was the mistake that I first made when I got started with Fiverr.

To get started with Fiverr, follow these steps:

Go to the website Fiverr.com then click on Become A Seller.

You can join Fiverr by using your Facebook, Google or Email account. I used my Facebook account to get started as it was a simple process of logging into my Facebook profile and connecting it to Fiverr which was automatically done by Fiverr.

By using Facebook, I receive all Fiverr notifications to the email address associated with Facebook.

On the next page, click on the green button Become A Seller, then complete the forms on the screen to enter your relevant skills and proceed to list your first gig.

The Benefits Of Using Fiverr

Starting a business with Fiverr means that you don’t have to create your own website to promote yourself.

Fiverr has built out this extensive platform that makes it easy for persons to list their skills and their price.

There is also no need for you to pay for advertising to bring traffic to your website. Because Fiverr is a well known freelancer platform, it is a household name in the online marketing space.

This means that most people go here for online services and the chances of them finding your gig is high.

Because there is no need to use paid advertising to promote your gig, any money that you make will be a profit for you (well after Fiverr has taken their cut).

So far since having used Fiverr, the only drawback that I am not pleased with, is the 20% deduction that they take  but it is a justified cost since it provides a free platform for freelancers to meet business owners and individuals to sell their service.

How To Create Your Gig On Fiverr

Once you have set up your Fiverr account you will need to create your gig. Fiverr allows you to have seven gigs in total so I would use up this allotment and provide as many gigs as you can.

You never know, one gig may outperform the other providing you with more sales over another.

|Create A Gig

To create your first gig from your dashboard, click on Selling then Gigs then Create A New Gig.

You will then come to a page that looks like this where you can set up your gig. There are six steps to complete before your gig goes live.

Starting with your gig title, you want to make sure that your title is short and simple. So if you can create an animated video, title your gig I Will Create An Animated Video.

Your title does not have to be fancy. It has to be as precise and to the point paying attention to key words that you think your target audience will search for.

Next select the appropriate category for your gig and the search terms. Search terms are entered as tags that help Fiverr’s algorithm decide whether your gig is relevant to a search term entered by their users.

If you are not sure about what you are doing, Fiverr has a helpful video on the right to assist you in completing step one.

|Pricing Your Gig

Step two is about setting out your prices and the scope of your services.

Here you will be able to define your services in more detail; so explain what the buyer will get by completing the categories that Fiverr recommends that you complete.

A word of advice – if this is your first time using Fiverr start pricing your gigs at $5. I offer the simplest service for $5.

For example if I am doing blog writing services, a simple 400 word blog post is priced at $5. Then I set a realistic price for a 500 word blog post and so on.

The reason why it is important that you do this is because it will help you attract buyers to your profile. Setting your basic package at $5, helps you start getting gigs and as long as you provide a good service you can get reviews which will allow your gigs to show up more often in the search results.

Once you have adequate reviews and are more confident with your services you can increase the price.

|Delivery Times

When stating delivery times think about your client. They want work delivered in a timely fashion so they will choose a vendor who can deliver a gig within 24 hours over a vendor who can deliver a gig within 3 days, for example.

Be mindful of this. For $5 gigs I always offer delivery within 24 hours. For the more expensive gigs which require more work I deliver the gigs within a maximum of 2-3 days.

Finish your gig by completing steps three to six.

|Buyer Requirements

The last piece of advice that I can give to you when creating your gig is that you want to ensure that you set out properly and in detail everything you need to complete your job with Buyer Requirements.

Nothing is worse than having a customer pay for a gig then asking them after to provide pieces of information that you need to complete the gig.

As soon as the customer pays for their gig, Fiverr initiates a countdown. Sometimes you may not be able to get in touch with the customer after they have paid.

So go through the requirements section and list everything that you need to complete the job.

How To Get Your First Paid Gig On Fiverr

With thousands of freelancers promoting their services on Fiverr, sometimes it can be difficult to get your first paying customer by simply relying on Fiverr’s algorithm.

This is where you have to step up a bit and do more work by completing the Buyer’s Request.

To find the Buyer’s Request click on Selling then scroll down to Buyer’s Request.

The buyer’s request is where customers post their requirements if it does not fall into one of Fiverr’s categories or maybe they do not prefer to search for a relevant gig.

Customers state what they would like to achieve. Sometimes they state a budget or leave the budget open. If the budget is left open there is scope to negotiate your prices.

If the customer has set a budget most times you should send an offer if you wish to work within the budget or you can take a chance and see whether they will be willing to work with your payment offer.

Either way, as a new freelancer on Fiverr, buyer’s requests are the fastest way to get your first paid gig whilst you wait for Fiverr’s algorithm to take effect.

It also helps you to get reviews thereby increasing your chance of your gigs appearing in the search results.

When making offers to buyer’s requests here are a few tips I recommend you follow to have a good chance at being offered the gig:

• Be as detailed as possible when making your offer. It is important to understand the customer’s requirements and even more important to set out a detailed plan as to how you can help the customer achieve their desired outcome. So do not be lazy. Take the time to write a detailed plan. This shows to the customer that you have read their requirements, that you have demonstrated that you know how to fulfil the job and have paid attention to detail. This helps you to stand out from the rest of offers.
• I would advise against writing one liners. That shows that you have not put any effort into attracting the customer to you.
• Set a reasonable offer. Do not put an offer at $5 if you do not want that offer to be accepted. State the offer that you will accept for the job to be done. If you are unable to state an offer because you require more information from the customer, then make sure that this is clearly expressed in your offer description.
• Include links to samples of your work. This will help the customer understand whether you are the right person for the gig. By providing a sample of your work cuts out any scepticism that the buyer may have about whether you are qualified for the job.
• Make as many offers as you can to have a higher chance of being accepted for one. Every day Fiverr allows you to place 10 offers. Make use of all 10 offers for the day.

Once you have landed a gig from the buyer’s request complete the job as agreed. When delivering your work be sure to include a paragraph asking that the customer leave a review letting others know about your service.

Keep repeating this process until you have built up a great reputation on Fiverr and you will start receiving gigs like clockwork from Fiverr’s search results.

How To Get Your Gig Ranked On Fiverr

Using the buyer requests to land your first paid gig is a way to get your first reviews thereby helping Fiverr’s algorithm to rank your gig.

If however you are struggling to get buyer requests, there are a few tricks that you can try that I have learnt to help your gig get ranked.

There is a group on Facebook called Fiverr Review Exchange Only.

In this group there are other Fiverr members who are also trying to get their gigs ranked. What they do is help other members by agreeing to like or leave a review on a gig for you so as to trick Fiverr’s algorithm into thinking that you have genuine people checking out your gigs.

What happens then is that these visitors tells Fiverr’s algorithm that your gigs are interesting and so it causes your gig to be ranked.

I have not really relied on this method to have my gig ranked.

I learnt of this method from another Fiverr user as it helped him.

When using the group be careful not to accept any offers to buy reviews as there are those people who sell reviews.

There is no need to buy reviews as there are people who are willing to help you gain reviews via mutual exchange.

Another way to get your gig ranked is a black hat way, in my opinion. That means it is very risky and could go against Fiverr’s terms of service for abuse of process. 

I will still state it here.

What you will do is create a dummy Fiverr account. From that account buy your own gig twice and then leave reviews on it.

Next buy some traffic from a Fiverr user who sells traffic. At most you should be spending $5 for this. Direct that traffic to the gig that you want ranked.

Doing this tricks Fiverr’s algorithm into thinking that your gig is interesting as it is getting many hits. This will then help rank your gig fast.

How To Scale Your Business With Fiverr As A Beginner

So let’s say that you’re getting customers through Fiverr and you’re ready to take it to the next level.

Because Fiverr takes a percentage of your earnings it is important to try and build a long term relationship with your customer and move the communication off of Fiverr.

Do not however mention this in your messenger chat on Fiverr as it is against their terms of service to accept payment directly from a customer.

Some customers contact you via email and make the request to work long term with you. This is one way of scaling your business as you can now offer many other services to them at a price that suits you.

When you build long term relationships with these customers you can also get referrals for your business.

Another way to scale your business is to increase your gig prices. Remember when you priced your gig at $5 for the basic package?

Once you have built up a reputation on Fiverr it is fair to increase your prices to value your worth. Do not be afraid that an increase in price will reduce your sales.

This is further from the truth. Fiverr caters to many different customers.

So there are low paying and high paying customers. If you can deliver a service and have proven that you can deliver the job professionally you will get business even if you increase your rate.

One piece of advice however will be to ensure that you keep your delivery at the shortest time possible. So just because you increase your basic package price does not mean that you should increase the delivery time.

Keep your delivery times as short as possible to encourage visitors to book you.

The Top 3 Freelance Marketplaces Where You Can Make Money

As a freelancer you are selling your skills on the marketplace to people who want a specialised service.

Back in the days the usual way to get your freelance services known was to set up a website, state your services and promote that website using advertising means.

Now the easier way to get your services out there is to join a freelance marketplace and advertise your services there.

The reason why it becomes easier for you to use a freelance marketplace is because they have their own traffic.

Many individuals and businesses go to these websites when they want tasks completed which they cannot do themselves.

It is because of this demand for these services, that it is easy for a freelancer to join one of these marketplaces and never have to worry about promoting their business on the internet because of the driving force of these marketplaces.

There are many marketplaces online that you can promote your services but the three that have come to be the most popular go-to marketplaces are Fiverr, Upwork and Freelancer.

Fiverr

Fiverr is an online global marketplace which makes this one of the places where anyone from any country can easily set up an account and start offering their services.

Most of the services performed start at $5 per job which is where the brand got its name from.

By attaining good performance reviews and building your brand you are able to promote yourself and offer services for more than $5.

Upwork

You may have known Upwork as Elance-Odesk. This marketplace is another global platform where you can market your services for free and get paid for jobs that you complete.

Freelancer

Freelancer is a global marketplace where any employer wanting a job to be completed, can post their position, the requirements for the position and have freelancers bid to win the job. The best person for the job who sells their services by stating what they can offer and for how much, is then contacted by the employer.

With Freelancer you can also build your profile where you can attract employers to contact you about any job that they want completed.

What Skills You Can Sell On The Marketplace

The skills that you can sell are typically creative and digital skills.

Any type of skill that you can do online such as building a website, creating a logo, creating a video introduction, doing a voiceover, can be sold on these marketplaces.

All of the jobs that I have seen on these marketplaces are for online businesses.

Therefore if you are trying to sell a car repair service or dog walking service, then these marketplaces are not for you.

When deciding what skills you can sell you can easily leverage the marketplace platform to see what other services people are selling and then create your own.

So if you go to Fiverr.com there is an explore feature where you can look to see what other type of services are being offered.

Can you think of any services you can do in one of these categories?

If we click on Music & Audio it is broken down in to further sub categories. By using these categories you will get a few ideas of services you can offer, then you can create your own profile to offer the same service to the world.

You can use this same method of researching ideas for your profile with both Upwork and Freelancer. Feel free to navigate the sites to see what options you have.

How To Create An Account And Set Up Your Profile

Once you have decided on the skills that you want to sell, it is now time to create your account.

Each marketplace requires certain personal information about you to create a user profile.

Your user profile is made available to the public so they can see who they will be working with and what services you have to offer.

I would advise that you spend about an hour preparing a detailed profile to get the best chances of people finding your gig and hiring you.

If you are not sure about what to include in your profile, find other users who offer the same service as you do and use their profile as inspiration. Do not copy other people’s profiles as you run the risk of being banned from the network. 

Let’s look at how each platform works to set up your user profile.

Fiverr

To start selling your services on Fiverr click on Become A Seller.

You can join Fiverr by either signing up with your Facebook, Google or Email account.

Once you have selected your method for signing up click on Become A Seller then complete the screen to enter your relevant skills and proceed to list your first gig.

Upwork

To start selling on Upwork click on the button Become A Freelancer.

Enter your details to then sign up to the platform.

Next enter a password and click on the button link Work As A Freelancer.

Complete all the fields for a username and bot check.

Ensure that you read and agree to the Terms of Services then click Next.

You will then be asked to verify your email address.

Once you have verified your email address complete the onscreen details to commence your application. Upwork requires you to submit an application to start posting jobs in their marketplace.

Ensure that you complete these details carefully to get the best chance at being accepted.

Whilst there is no guarantee that you will be accepted onto the Upwork network, if for whatever reason you are rejected, there are still avenues with Fiverr and Freelancer that you can explore.

Freelancer

To start with Freelancer click on the link that says Sign Up.

You can sign up to Freelancer using a Facebook or email account.

When signing up make sure that you select Work then click on Create Account.

You will then be able to select your relevant skills that you would like to offer. You can always update or change these skills at a later date so don’t worry if you do not have as many skills to offer at this time or you do not know what to select.

Once you have selected your skills you will be required to verify your payment. Verifying a payment is simply an extra layer of security that Freelancer has to ensure that only serious persons get onto the network.

If you do not wish to verify a payment you can always skip the step.

You will be offered a chance to start a professional membership. This membership allows you to have several more benefits than a basic membership.

Basic memberships are free to start whilst professional memberships cost $29.95 per month.

Once this step is created you will then be able to search for jobs that you can fulfil. Remember that unlike Fiverr or Upwork, employers on Freelancer post their requirements and if you suit any of them you can bid on the job to get a chance at being offered the position.

How To Promote Your Gigs

In some cases as on Fiverr, you may have to do a little bit more than simply completing your profile and hoping that people find you.

Because there are so many freelancers in the marketplace, you have to go the extra step and promote your own gigs so that other people can find you.

When people find your gigs you have a higher likelihood of getting work.

To set up your profile so that it can be found easily ensure that you use meta data and tags in your description when designing your gig.

So for example if your gig is blog writing, be sure to add some keywords in Gig Title and Search Description that are relevant to blogging.

You should also carefully add relevant tags to your description as this helps rank your gig faster.

Secret Hack To Ranking Your Gig Faster On Fiverr

Here’s a hack that I learnt from a good friend of mine who easily gets his gig listed in the top 10 rank on Fiverr for his keyword.

Firstly create a dummy account on Fiverr.

Find the gig that you posted using your normal account and buy that gig at least twice with the dummy account. When you buy the gig show that it is completed and add a positive review.

Next using a small outlay buy some traffic to your gig so it appears that people are clicking on your gig and checking it out.

What this does is it gives Fiverr the impression that people find your gig interesting enough to click on it and so Fiverr will want to show it to more people, thus ranking your gig higher.

You can easily get traffic from solo ads, or even from Fiverr but a word of caution, never use Fiverr as a traffic source for a legitimate purpose.

On this occasion because you essentially want to “cheat” the system, it is ok to use Fiverr traffic to do so.

How Much Money Can You Really Make

Freelancing is a serious business and only if you take massive action can you potentially make enough money to earn a full time income.

In this article on Forbes they tell how three people make six figures a year with Fiverr.

Even as a teen you can make money on Fiverr like Damian Pros writes in this article.

Check out this article that I found about Ari Zelmanow who earned over $10k on Upwork in under a month.

The stories told in these articles open up the world of possibilities for anyone to turn their skill into a side hustle.

All you have to do is get to work and go for it. Like anything if you want to be successful with these freelance marketplaces you must treat this like a business. Therefore you need to show up everyday and work hard to build a brand for yourself.

Affiliate marketing is the easiest way to start earning an income online.

If you are new to affiliate marketing then you can read my blog post How To Start Affiliate Marketing For Beginners, which is a step by step guide to affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing is essentially promoting other people’s products for a commission. The reason why it is so easy is because you do not have to create your own product to sell.

So if you are stuck for creative ideas on the type of product that will sell well, you can simply become an affiliate for another company and agree with them, that you will receive a percentage of the sale, once you sell their product.

Most companies pay affiliates 20% upwards on each sale, which is a great starting point.

You can find products to promote from affiliate networks like FlexOffers, Clickbank or any brand who has an affiliate program.

Why Most Affiliate Marketers Fail

In order to make  affiliate marketing work for you, I would strongly advise that you join one program and master that one program before you join the next.

The reason why most affiliate marketers fail, is because they join too many programs without figuring out the best features of each and how they all work. This only causes overwhelm making it impossible to learn exactly what the program can offer. 

They also do not give themselves time to learn affiliate marketing skills and apply it to the program. If you want to be successful with affiliate marketing, the key takeaway is to invest in educational products that can teach you.  

Also whilst affiliate marketing is an excellent avenue for you to make an income and eventually a full time income, your expectations must be set.

Before you start your eCommerce store, it is important that you do research to find out what products sell well.

This method takes away all the guess work as you will be piggybacking off the efforts of another eCommerce seller who has already done the research for you and proven that the product sells.

Therefore do not try to reinvent the wheel.

Once you have decided on the niche you are going to sell in you can start to build your store by using the Shopify eCommerce platform.

After setting up your store, you now need to add your products and then promote your store using a form of advertising such as Facebook Ads or Pinterest.

Taking part in eCommerce can be rewarding if you understand how to do it properly. Therefore like anything else it is strongly recommended that you acquire the skills to run an eCommerce store by undergoing the necessary training.

Drop shipping is the process of having suppliers prepare, package and ship your products to your customers so you do not have to hold inventory or do any of the shipping yourself.

In other cases you will learn how to connect with suppliers from local markets. This method works with the customer in mind and helps to keep delivery times and refund processes to a minimum.

To earn money immediately I would recommend freelance jobs.

To freelance means that you are providing a service to persons or companies on a self employed basis without any ongoing commitment. You do not work for one employer and you are not salaried or on their payroll.

There are many online websites that help people find freelancing jobs. However the difficult part is that freelancing is competitive as there are many people who compete for the same freelance jobs.

Nevertheless it is still a good way to earn an income fast but like a job, you will receive an income in exchange for your time.

Unlike affiliate marketing and eCommerce, unless you have high paying clients or learn how to outsource work to other freelancers it is difficult to make six figures passively.

If freelancing is something you would like to try and have the potential to earn a full time income, then I would recommend that you start a niche website dedicated to providing a freelance service.

This will help highlight your work, testimonials and rates all in one place.

Freelancer And Upwork

How do you actually start in freelancing?

Well let’s help you secure your first job and for this I would recommend that you start at Freelancer or Upwork.

These two sites help persons find freelance work and they are free to join.

Freelancer does have a professional membership where you can bid on multiple jobs each month. With their free service you are only allowed to bid on a maximum of two jobs each month.

To start at Freelancer click here.

On the next page you can sign up using Facebook or you can sign up with your email address, username and password.

Make sure that you select Work so that your dashboard can populate with jobs.

Next click the blue button Create Account.

Once you have created your account you will be required to select your skills. Make sure and select skills that you can do as your dashboard will highlight only relevant jobs that you may be qualified to do.

If you do not yet have a skill and you wish to update that in the future, it is possible to update your profile later on.

You will be required to verify your payment method. This step helps to verify your identity and build trust with the platform.

If you do not wish to verify your payment method, then do not worry. You can skip this step and move on to the next.

Freelancer will try to upsell you to their Professional membership. You do get one month free but the monthly cost for the professional membership is $29.95.

As a professional member you get many more benefits including the ability to apply to 300 jobs per month. As a free member you only get to apply to two jobs.

If you do not wish to take part in their free membership you can also skip this for now.

Next all you have to do is search for relevant jobs, place bids on the jobs you would like to do, then wait to be hired.

Freelancer has hundreds of thousands of members so to be successful with your bids you should place as many bids on different jobs as possible.

This increases your chances of getting selected to perform the work.

To start looking for jobs, navigate to your project feed where all the jobs will show up as they are listed.

Simply select the job that interests you, read the requirements and if you are interested apply for the job by bidding on it.

If you are successful, the employer will contact you via the chat where you are able to set your rates and terms for the job to be fulfilled.

With freelancing you have the potential to earn money today. There is no requirement to have experience, although if you are providing a service and the employer compensates you based on the value of that service, then it is useful to provide a service where you have acquired some skills.

Even if you have a blog or have gained skills from a job, feel free to apply those skills to your freelancing service.

Um… Actually it is very real.

I felt that the only reason why someone wonders whether a program is a scam or not and whether the ability to make money online was real was because they probably tried it and failed miserably.

Usually when you fail at something you have a propensity to blame that thing and say that it did not work or was a scam. It was for this reason that I wanted to set the record straight and outline the real reason why most people are not making money online. Secondly and most importantly I am going to give you the exact ways you can fix it.

Reason #1

Negative Mindset

So you’re telling me, that I have not made any money online because of how I’m thinking?

Yip that’s exactly what I am telling you.

I see many people who say that they are afraid to start an online business because they are afraid of losing money and of failure. Or they are afraid to approach an online job because they are afraid of rejection.

Do you ever wonder about the simple phrase “think positive”? It all derives from the concept of the law of attraction, that whatever we think, say or believe is what we project and thus shapes our reality.

Therefore when you claim that you are afraid of losing money and of failing, there will always be something to hinder your progress because of those beliefs and thoughts.

How To Fix It

Start thinking positively and believe in yourself that you can be successful and make money online. Believe with every inch of your imagination that it is possible.

When you have that belief opportunities open up for you by showing you ways that you can be successful. For example, you may meet someone who is willing to coach you and show you how to make money online. Or you may be presented with an amazing opportunity to work for someone on mutually favourable terms.

It’s amazing how when you are positive, positive things happen to you in return.

To help you think positively you should invest in personal development books by Napoleon Hill, Dale Carnegie or Jack Canfield.

These are authors who write on the principles of success and the power of positive thinking.

Having Unrealistic Expectations

I don’t blame you at all for having expectations such as being able to make “$1000 a day”. Too often I see advertisements claiming that you can make six figures in three months. This sets an ideal for the reader that achieving such a goal is possible in such a short space of time.

Can anyone make six figures in three months? Absolutely! But there is a process.

Since the start of my online journey last year, I have come to realise that there is nothing like an overnight success. Well unless you win the lottery!

Every successful person has had many trials and failures, which has spanned months or years. That means that they did not wake up one day and make a million dollars.

It is more than likely that over time, they have tried to make money, failed at their attempts, tried again and finally figured it out because they had the right information at the right time.

What you don’t see however is their struggles.

How To Fix It

Set a realistic goal for yourself of how much money you’d like to earn and the time you will give yourself to earn it.

Then find ways on the internet to earn money and STICK TO IT! Finding the right ways can be difficult if you do not know which sources to rely on.

Reason #3

The Shiny Object Syndrome

This is the syndrome that gets most people failing at making money online all the time.

The situation goes something like this. They have tried one thing, when they don’t see a quick return, they move on to the next that comes along to distract them.

This is the main reason why most people do not make money online because they are not taking the time to learn how the program works and master it, to start making money.

How To Fix It

You may have been working a normal job where you go to an office and work under a boss. However you want to transition to working from home where you create your own hours and make an income for yourself. You therefore decide to start your own business and invest into a program to start earning an income online.

The difficulty with this transition is that there is no employee to entrepreneur mindset shift. Too many people still think like the employee. They expect to get paid at the end of every fortnight or month.

Unfortunately as an entrepreneur it is a lot different to a job. Firstly there is a risk that you will make no money or you may make some money but not immediately.

Just because you have not made any money yet, does not mean that the program does not work. It simply means that you need to give the program enough time to work for you whilst you work on building your business. So be patient!

Building your business includes, setting up a website, creating content for your website, getting people to see your website, promoting and marketing your website to get traffic and eventually making sales or commissions.

My advice therefore is to stop jumping from program to program. Find ONE program or business opportunity that you enjoy and work on making it grow.

Therefore be persistent with that one opportunity until it works for you. In this online world, there is going to be many distractions.

To avoid the distractions you have to discipline yourself. How I did this, I found one program that I could trust and I learnt from the creator of that program and remained persistent.

Any person that tried to entice me with any other thing, I ignored. I outright told them that I was not interested.

This is how I finally started making money online because I was committed to one product alone and mastering that one product.

Reason #4

No Community For Support

When you believe in a goal and you are trying to achieve it you may have people who will try to convince you that the possible is impossible.

These people will try to steer you off course and prevent you from pursuing your goals.

Trying to start a business online and make money from it, can be lonely. But don’t try to travel the road alone.

There will be times when you will have bumps along the way and whilst your strength and tenacity will determine whether you will be able to cross those hurdles, sometimes it is best to have a bit of support.

People who fail to make money online often try to do it alone without asking for help and support. This is not the right way to do it.

How To Fix It

I love networking with people and reading their journey and success stories. This is what keeps me motivated and inspired to keep going.

I would therefore recommend that you join a group of people who are like you. They have the same drive as you. They understand what you are going through and they too may have gone through or are going through the same thing so it is easy to relate to them.

It feels great when you can reach out to someone who understands your passion and you can connect with them through that common goal.

You may be able to find focus groups in your own community on Facebook.

Most online programs that teach you how to make money online have their own Facebook group. Join it and network with its users so you can always keep your mind focused.

Reason #5

No Proper Training Or Education

Making money online is a skill. It is something that you learn how to do.

Just like with a new job you need to learn how to use the company’s systems and understand their procedures. There is always some form of training in order to integrate into the business’ community.

The same is with any business that you want to start. Sadly, people who do not make money online do not take the time to learn the skill by getting proper training.

How To Fix It

Invest in a training course.

If you want to learn how to create an online store learn the principles of eCommerce.

If you want to learn how to sell products learn the principles of internet marketing.

If you want to learn how to do affiliate marketing, learn the principles of affiliate marketing.

Whatever area of expertise you want to learn and if you want to be successful at it, you should start with proper education.

When I started my business online I knew nothing about marketing. So I decided to take a course in marketing and master it.

It was through that course that I understood how to sell a product, why traffic was so important to my business and why I should build an email list.

Reason #6

Do Not Want To Invest In Themselves

If you are failing at making money online it tells me that you simply do not understand the process.

Here’s what a typical conversation is like with someone who simply does not get it:

Them: I purchased a program and it said it will help me make money but I have not made a dime.

Me: What have you done with the program to make money?

Them: Nothing. I thought I had to just buy it and it will help me make money??

A lot of people are still uneducated about how to make money online because they do not spend the time learning how to make money online. They do not invest the time nor the money to learn and this is a major pitfall. 

And surprisingly they just do not want to. It’s no surprise that so many people fail to make any money online.

How To Fix It

As you learn the process of making money online, you should be treating this as a business. It should be a long term venture.

When you have a long term vision and if you want to learn everything about making money online then it is only obvious that you should invest in yourself and improve your skills.

Free is good. No doubt I use a lot of free tools for my business but I also smartly invest in other resources that will help push my business to the next level and therefore make more money.

How can you invest in yourself?

Learn something new. Ask yourself what do you need to understand how to make money online or start a successful business?

Is there someone who can coach you? Is there a skill set you can learn?

Do you want to learn a new skill? If so find someone who can teach you and be prepared to compensate them for their time.

You can also invest in yourself through time. Take the time to change your beliefs, if you’re always thinking negatively.

Have a power hour and meditate to exercise your mind with good thoughts. This helps to make you more jovial and excited about whatever it is you’re pursuing.

You can also invest in yourself by reading self help books. Self help books are a great source of inspiration and motivation.

Never stop learning. Investing in yourself is the most powerful way to grow into a marketable asset which provides huge returns when you stick to a plan.

Reason #7

No Research Into Program And Joining Business Models That May Be Illegitimate

There was a time when the internet was profuse with programs which promised that your money would be doubled in 90 days if you “invested” money into the “system”.

A lot of people were attracted by the claim and naturally they would join but two months later, they would see none of their money back as the company that made the claim would fold.

This is what happens when you do not research the legitimacy of such programs.

Everyone is responsible for the actions that they take. Just because one program is illegitimate does not mean that all are.

How To Fix It

In order to make real money online, you should be joining programs which are completely transparent and legal in the eyes of the law. Here are a few things you should look out for to determine whether a program may be legitimate:

Promise of a fast income there is no way that you can earn a fast income online. There is nothing such as a get rich quick program even though they represent themselves in this way. So when someone promises that you can make money in a short period of time, this is a strong indication that something is fishy and you should look elsewhere.

Urgency Tactics if someone is using strategies to put you in a panic to buy something I would be concerned. Urgency tactics are well known marketing strategies used to manipulate the psychology of a potential customer. Be careful with this and take the time to do proper research into the program to ensure that it is what you want to do.

Unrealistic Income Claims And Guarantees It is illegal to make a guarantee that someone will make money from a business opportunity. Therefore be absolutely vigilante of any program which does this. Any claim like “You can make $10,000 in 2 weeks” is unrealistic and should be treated as a way to entice you to join the program. Look out for them and be extra careful.

No Proper Legal Disclaimers Every legitimate business or program should have proper disclaimers on their websites. Important disclaimers are the Terms of Service or Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and Income Disclaimers. If a website does not have any of these then you should take care before proceeding. Also look for the About Us page and any other features like a Contact Us page that helps you to get in touch with the owner of the program in the event you have a complaint.

No Refund Policy Every program or company that offers a business opportunity should have a refund policy especially if you are exchanging money for a product. If there is none then I would not join this program as there is the issue of getting your money back if you are not happy with your purchase.

Reason #8

Take No Action

Many people accumulate a wealth of knowledge about how to make money online but take no action to implement what they have learnt.

It is obvious that they do not make any money online.

Even if they do take some action they are inconsistent with that action.

How To Fix It

You can have the right mindset, invest in great education and have the best support system, but you will never make money online if you do not take action.

This is the most important thing. Go figure.

To often people have all the important attributes of an entrepreneur but the one thing that’s cheating their success is the fact that they do not do anything with what they have learnt.

Therefore if you want to make money online, start doing! Simple!

Start putting into place what you have learnt. So if you are starting with affiliate marketing, then start with a product and promote it.

When you start the process of making money online, it does not fall into your lap. You actually need to do work to make the money. This may involve creating a blog post, doing video marketing or running ads.

Whatever it is you have to do something in order for the money to be created.

Once you start taking action, be consistent with the activity and continue working and building it to make it grow.

Eventually your efforts will pay off.

Final Thoughts

To make money online it is possible. There are so many people who are coming into the online space and learning how to do it but some learn faster than others. Some learn the right information too.

There is so much mis-education out there, but if you are determined to succeed at making money online then you need the right outlets to learn from.

For your own interest and to ensure that you continue to generate cash flow, it is important that you subscribe to different sources that can earn you an income so in the event that one source dies, you have others that will support you and your family.

Usually when people create income streams from multiple sources they do so using different business ideas. For example, they may create a virtual assistant business, a social media agency or an affiliate marketing blog and master each one in turn before they go on to the other.

Next is your lead capture page builder. This is how you will capture the email addresses of your potential customers or clients to start building your email list. Read why it is crucial to start building your email list early here.

The lead capture page builder that the Four Percent Group recommends is Clickfunnels. They have a 14 day trial that you can start to see how the software works, then it costs $97/month thereafter.

You can see it in the list of MSI and it is another essential marketing tool which you can use to sell products, capture people’s information including their name and email address and integrate it with email marketing software like Aweber or GetResponse to start the email marketing process.

Aweber or GetResponse

You will also see that Aweber or GetResponse are included in the MSIs. Both programs have a generous 30 day free trial then starts at $19/month for 500 contacts and $15/month for 1000 contacts respectively.

Then there’s Clickmagick which is a link tracker. Because you will be using the internet to promote your business, you will have times when you are making money or sales from your website but you do not know which article or traffic source is driving sales.

This is where your link tracker comes in. It is important because it takes away the guess work in trying to figure out what’s working (so you can keep it and make more money) and what’s not (so you can ditch it and not waste time).

Clickmagick has a 14 day free trial and then starts at $12/month or $147/year.

Once you have created accounts with each of the companies and joined them as an affiliate it is important that you stick your affiliate ID into the blank field just as the affiliate company has given you.

Here is an example.

In my Namecheap account my affiliate link is https://www.namecheap.com/?aff=107436 but back in the Four Percent dashboard you will see that they already have the main domain embedded but a blank field for the affiliate ID.

So all you are required to do is place the ID which is 107436 into the blank field.

Once that is done it’s now time to learn from Vick various strategies to start getting customers or clients for your business on the internet.

How Do You Make Money With The Four Percent Group?

When you join the Four Percent Group you are learning a skill and you have also become an affiliate of the company at the same time.

Truthfully I am not a fan of survey sites. I tried them in the past to make money and whilst I made some money, I did not make a lot of money.

More or less, the best paid survey sites are a way for you to make extra pocket cash for little things that you have to do right now.

Before I dive into my list I want to cover a few things that you should know about survey sites that you should look out for. 

Sign up for as many paid survey sites as you can

The reason why you want to do this is because in my experience, more than likely you will only qualify for a few surveys that you match exactly based on the survey’s criteria.

Therefore you want to sign up for as many survey sites as possible so you have a better chance at qualifying to a good few of them.

It is unlikely that you will be able to participate in all, but joining many survey sites improves your chances of making a decent amount of money.

Make sure that the online survey site is legitimate

Taking surveys can be fun and a great way to pass time however you do not want to sign up to every single survey site you see because not all of them may be legit.

Here are a few things to look out for when deciding to complete a survey:

Some go on to ask for your gender, your home address, your contact number, your date of birth, your marital status. A privacy policy tells you how your information is stored and used. It also tells you where to send a complaint if you have one about the website.

The terms of service or conditions tells you your relationship with the survey website so if there is something that you do not agree to, you can always abandon the site.

Usually the privacy policy and terms of service or condition are found to the bottom of the website. If these are not present on the website then it is probably a scam website.

Promises That Are Just Too Good To Be True

Survey sites are not huge money makers. So any survey site which promises that you can earn up to $100 a day is probably a scam. So be careful of those that make these outlandish promises.

It is reasonable for most survey sites to offer $5 to $10 to complete a survey although we have seen some paid survey sites offering as much as $75 per survey like Cashback Research.
