I always say that now is the best time to grow your network business because of all the available tools and resources we have at our fingertips.

Twenty years ago, building a global network marketing business was unthinkable especially since we did not have the proper technological infrastructure in place that helps us now to connect with someone in Australia whilst we’re in the UK, for example.

It’s an exciting time to get started and the opportunity to generate leads from another country and convert them to team members or customers is made simple through the use of online tools that you can easily access. Bear in mind that about 55% of the world’s population has Internet access, making it simple to gain access to them.

There is a wide range of resources that you can use to connect with prospects in foreign countries.

It’s important to know which social platforms are the most popular ones in a certain country.  This is why research is essential.

For example, targeting Caribbean islands to grow your network marketing business may not be ideal since some countries do not have proper online payment gateways to transact.

Also, some people from these countries have a reluctance to join network marketing opportunities because of their scepticism and common association of the term “network marketing” to a scam.

Another thing to research is whether the destination country has network marketing competitors. Are those network marketing companies doing well?

This will help you determine whether the destination country is familiar with network marketing and they already have the mindset for the right team member to join your team.

What if a competitor is not doing well? You can target persons who are already network marketers and find out if they would be interested in a new opportunity.

Before you start to invest your money and time into countries that you are not familiar with, research whether people are accepting of network marketing business opportunities.

Learn what their transaction methods are like. Do they trust online transactions or are they traditional and prefer brick and mortar stores.

Learn about the culture of the country. Do they see business opportunities as formal or informal?; do they prefer more intimate connections such as phone calls or is a simple chat message the best for them?

It’s important that you spend some time really understanding the country you want to target and not rushing this process. To conduct that research consider using tools such as Google, Quora, Facebook Groups, or even family members who live in the destination country.

As a global network marketer, you’ll want to know what content to use in order to connect with prospects in a foreign country.

Remember that this is still a relationship business and there must be that focus on creating that know, like, trust factor through getting your foreign prospects to not only see you as an authority but also as someone who can help them build their own team in their respective countries.

How can you do this?

Options like blog articles, email newsletters, webinars, video tutorials, etc will allow you to educate your global prospects to give them more information about how they can start and the benefits they can reap when they start.

Connecting to global prospects may take many more touch points when following up and putting your message in front of them, since they may have tons of reservations especially if the concept is new to them.

It is expected.

Bear in mind that if the opportunity is new in their country, they may be anxious about getting started. Maybe their culture is averse to opportunities like network marketing and it’s a tough market to break into. This is why you should shape your content so that it is targeted and helps to answer any questions they may have.

A good way to do this is to create specific content for specific countries.

Instead of creating one generic blog post about “How To Start A Health And Wellness Business”, make sure the blog post is relevant to the country you are targeting. So that blog post would look something like “How To Start A Health And Wellness Business in the Netherlands”, for example.

If your objective is to build a global network marketing business, then you must be prepared to do the work that comes with it.

Spend some time doing research to see what complications there may be for Netherlanders, is there already a team in the Netherlands to help new recruits?; is there a forum or Facebook group where Netherlanders can go to for support?  

Demonstrate to your global prospects that you are thoughtful and that you are willing to invest time to not only educate them but also yourself so you can be the authority for a particular country that you want to serve.

This is how you will attract the right people from those destination countries and is the solution to becoming a new-age network marketer with available tools for connecting to potential leads around the world.

The Benefits Of Growing a Global Network Marketing Business

Once you have targeted your destination country of choice, attract your prospects using educational platforms such as webinars.

By using webinars you can educate your audience about your network marketing business, answer questions and handle any objections that may be raised.

It’s the perfect way to meet your audience and show them you’re a real person and that you want to help and serve them.

Webinar tools that you can use include Clickfunnels or LeadPages for building the webinar funnel.

To host the webinar you can use tools like WebinarJam, GoToWebinar or Zoom. YouTube Live and Google Hangout also allow you to provide live video tutorials.

Skype/Zoom

Worried about your telephone bill skyrocketing?

Well, Voice Over IP (VOIP) applications like Skype or Zoom allow you to connect and talk to potential partners in destination countries. Maybe you want to host a three-way conference call with your upline and prospect.

These applications give you a free opportunity to do so. It’s such a breeze.

Social Media Groups

This is another way you can target potential partners in other countries. Free options include Facebook groups or Pinterest marketing/boards.

Facebook groups are one of the best features since they are part of the world’s largest social network. There are over one billion users worldwide connecting you with any and everyone who is on this platform.

You can take several steps like strengthening your team, building your community, promoting watch parties, and even having team training from Facebook groups.

The Type of People To Target When Building Your Global Network Marketing Business

When building your global network marketing business make sure you don’t target “everyone.” Not everyone is going to a good fit for your business.

Targeting “everyone” is a waste of resources because they may not meet the prerequisite that you have outlined for who is a good network marketer.

That’s why when you are creating your client avatar and you are setting up your targeting systems, it is important that you focus on those people who already have a business mindset and are interested in business concepts such as leadership and marketing.

The type of people you want on your team are those who are action takers and do not need direction from you.

They already know that it will take hard work to be successful and they have that energy and drive without waiting for you to tell them what to do.

How exactly do you find these people?

The good thing about using online ad platforms like Google Adwords or Facebook is that you can be really specific about the type of person you want to target.

For example, when doing interest targeting with Facebook ad campaigns, you can select people who already know about and have an interest in network marketing, online marketing, business, leadership etc.

Another thing that you can consider is selecting the right market to target.

Make sure to research the country where you want to expand your global network marketing business.

Here are some issues to pay attention to:

• Infrastructure – do they have a good economic infrastructure that will make it easy for your network marketing team to grow their business.
• Existing market – do they have an existing target market and is there a demand for the product, that will make it easy for your network marketing team to find business.
• Available products – will your global network marketing team have access to all the products or do they need to wait for overseas shipping. This then causes a delay in the product reaching the prospect.
• Company websites – will your network marketing team have access to the company website so that orders can be easily processed. Is the website in the local currency? This can be troublesome for locals who are worried about transaction fees and currency conversion fees.
• Price points – Are price points in the local currency. Again this can be troublesome for locals who may be concerned about transacting in a different currency.

This might seem like a lot of research, but it’s definitely worthwhile in terms of understanding the existing market for your particular product/business opportunity.

This will help to maximise the results from your efforts. After learning about the current market in the destination country, it will be easier to create ad campaigns that are served to the people who are most likely to purchase your product or join your team.

After conducting this research, this will give you the final decision whether you can pursue global network marketing in that particular country.

Create Your Global Network Marketing Sales Funnel For Easy Recruitment

You are ready to build a global network marketing business and you are excited at the possibility of expanding your reach and creating a worldwide network.

How and where do you start?

If you already recruit on the internet you can actually use the same system to build your existing network marketing business into a global one. But in case you have forgotten, here is a strategy for recruiting and building a global downline.

Identify your target market

This includes demographics and geographics. It’s important to note this process doesn’t mean you’re ignoring potential customers who aren’t in the target market.

However, it means you’ll focus your marketing message on a market that’s most likely to buy your product or join your team. This is more effective than marketing to “everyone” in a country.

Research your target market

Before you create a strategy and training material around your target market, make sure that you do proper research taking into account the points I mentioned above such as ease of doing business, culture, time zone, language barriers, competitors, etc.

The key to doing research, in the beginning, is to save your time, in the event the target market is not a potentially lucrative market.  

Make an irresistible offer via content creation

It’s important to focus on what constitutes an offer. The goal here is once you have decided on the market you want to target, it is time to put your offer in front of them with the aim of generating prospects who you can speak to.

Make sure you’re offering quality content to your target market. You should also market to your target audience at the right time; so take into account their time zones and any public holidays that are in observance.

The content that you offer should ultimately connect your business to the product/opportunity offered.

Close the sale through communication

As you begin to generate leads, begin to build the relationship through nurturing through various content marketing strategies.

A great way is to build a community of prospects is through Facebook groups where you can connect to your audience and deliver valuable content to help educate them, inspire them and encourage them to take action.

Don’t forget that even though your focus should be on providing value, you should be confident enough to ask for the sale – whether that is as a customer or as a new team member.

Here are some effective closing techniques to help you improve your closing rates. They include:

• Summary – after elaborating on the benefits and features that your business can offer, make sure to close by summarising and recapping to remind the prospect about what you spoke to them about.
• Now or Never – using urgency tactics is a great way to add a sense of urgency and make a prospect want to move forward with the next step.
• Questions – give your prospect the chance to ask any questions so you can address any reservations or objections they may have. When questions are answered it makes the prospect more likely to take the leap.

These are oldie-but-goodie closing techniques that use psychology to help land the deal.

Onboarding training

The nurturing does not stop after you have secured the customer or team member. It’s actually just starting if you want to be successful in growing a sustainable global network marketing business.

Actually getting a team member to join you is half of the battle. You now need to train them so they can duplicate your process and build their own team.

If you neglect them and don’t give them the training they need, then they are likely to quit which is not helpful to you and your objective.

So provide onboarding training through written content or video material like webinars.

The only real thing holding you back, if you have not already, is you.

So I decided to create this blog post answering the number one question that I had.

That is, where do you find people to join your network marketing company?

I want to start by painting a picture of what happened several years ago.

Have you ever picked up the phone and called a total stranger and tried to sell them something?

Did you ever get sweaty palms in the process? A feeling like “what if…??” or “… maybe I should hang up before they answer??”.

Remember when you would go knocking on other people’s doors hoping for a sale?

Or if not that, what about going to shops or other business owners in your niche and local to you, to put on a presentation to introduce your product.

I remember I called a company to ask if I could present to their employees about having their own business and I did this several times to expand my lead database.

Remember having home parties or business op meetings?

These methods all worked at one point but they took time and effort to implement.

In current times, we now have the internet as a marketing tool and still, even with this marketing tool, there is “cold calling,” but it is all done through automated systems!

Automation enables you to be more efficient with your efforts. How could that help you save time?

How to Generate MLM Leads Or Network Marketing Leads Online?

The best method that I have used to date and which is the current working method to network marketing, is the use of a lead generation funnel.

This funnel helps to automate prospecting for your network as well as creating customers in your pipeline through an inbound strategy – where your target audience approaches you for information.

This funnel must have your target audience passing through it – so to get to that point let’s back up to exactly how you will find those people.

So, before you put your time and effort into generating leads, be sure you are aware of who your audience is and how to search for your prospects.

First, you’ll need to spend time identifying what your products and services offer.

Let’s say you are offering a wellness product that can help with weight loss.

Next, you need to identify your target consumers.

For example, with a wellness product you will need to target people who want to stay healthy, as well as those who want to maintain their youthful appearance.

This could be athletes or the elderly, as examples.

Finally define, the demographics of your target customer – where can they be seen often, what are their main activities, interests, and preferences?

With every technique you utilise to find your targeted audience, make sure that you have a sound strategy in place and that you have a brand message that resonates with your audience.

Every serious network marketer should have a brand message. A message that tells your audience who you are, what you can do to help them and how you are different from your competitors, informs your audience that they are in the right place and you are the person to solve their problems and answer to their needs. 

For example, in my digital marketing business my brand message is: 

“I help entrepreneurs attract leads and sales online using digital marketing strategies” 

Here is It Works’ network marketer, Denise Walsh’s brand message: 

You must also have a value proposition – what helps you stand out from your competitors; what makes you different.

Your value proposition should keep in mind your target audience’s needs and desires.

It should also show them how your solution can help fulfil those needs and desires.

Three Stages Of The Lead Generation Funnel

1. Awareness

During this stage, your target audience are made aware of their pain points and desires.

It is where your brand will put forward a value proposition that will solve those pain points and meet those desired outcomes.

2. Consideration

It is best to segment your audience into categories that will help you meet the specific goals of every group of consumer.

When you do this, you will push the visitors further through the funnel where you can provide informative and useful content that they need, to help them further realise your usefulness to meet their goals.

It is only when your audience, realises through your branding, that you can help them solve their problems, then you are more than likely to generate that lead. 

The process from targeting to nurturing leads can be automated to maximise your sale-ability.

3. Sale

This is the stage where your lead has decided that you are the best fit for them.

It is also at this stage that you should aim to fulfil their desired outcome within their time range.

The better you can satisfy your consumer after a sale, the more they are likely to give you high ratings and reviews and recommend others to your business.

This is most important for the scalability of your business. 

Don’t Want To Use A Sales Funnel For MLM Leads? Try This Instead

For whatever reason, should you not decide to use the lead generation funnel mentioned above, you can make this completely manual.

This manual process will involve an outbound strategy – that means that you will reach out to your target audience.

1. Make an offer they can’t refuse

The internet is inundated with so much “noise”  of advertisers and promoters that try to capture your attention.

This is where you will need to separate your product from the “noise” of the internet.

You need to create an offer that your prospect can’t refuse! But you don’t need to be sneaky about it or have “but wait there’s more…”.

Some offers that work really well for network marketers are challenges or requests for product testers.

2. Call to action

This is the most important aspect of educating and selling a product to your audience.

Be sure the call to action is clear!

As in the above example, the call to action here is “Comment “I’m In” to Join Us”.

The attention span of the average person is compared to a toddler; you have to make it easy for your audience to take action and for it to be fast and convenient.

3) Be quick to respond

If you are using social media sites to capture or engage with your audience, one of the most important aspects of the three steps is to RESPOND.

Prospects don’t want to have a one-way conversation.

Think of it like going to the store and needing something, but there is no one around to ask.

This deters potential buyers from purchasing from you. Do not give them a reason to abandon the conversation.

The more you can engage with your prospects, the more successful your lead generation end game will be.

How to Get Network Marketing Leads? (FREE)

The internet has endless sources on where to find people to fill your pipeline.

Depending on the niche or market you want to work in, you can find your target audience from most social media platforms.

How you capture the lead and the message you use to generate those leads is of course important. 

There are tons of resources out there for building your audience, but here are a few channels I would recommend:

1. Your own Facebook personal profile

Attract people to your profile by creating engaging content that is educational, motivational and inspirational.

Remember that you need to keep growing your Facebook friends’ list to make this work.

So do not expect to deliver your content to the same 1000 friends. Keep making “friends”.

2. Facebook Groups

Did you know there is a group on Facebook for ANYTHING?!

Anything!

It is time to start asking for admittance to those groups so you can start posting and sharing information about your service and/or product in those groups.

These groups can help warm up your audience from cold to hot leads very quickly!

Create inviting posts that encourage people to join your team or buy your product through challenges as in the above example.

3. Instagram

Instagram is one of the most powerful tools in social media marketing to date.

There are so many opportunities on this platform that you should not overlook it.

To build a successful Instagram account, means that you should have a lot of growth through an always-increasing Instagram following, comments, mentions and likes.

You can create hashtags on Instagram posts, so new people can find your content.

You can share visually appealing and thought-provoking content to your followers through images and long-form captions.

When creating content, make sure that it does not appear spammy. The first thing you should aim to do is create content that is inviting rather than content that will cause prospects to abandon your account. 

Here is an example of what your feed should look like. (Maybe you can tell by now, that I was an It Works network marketer in the past hence references to It Works content.) 

Don’t create an Instagram feed with only product images. Instead create one that has a variety of images that helps to tell your story and allow your audience to connect and resonate with you. 

When creating your content, do include: 

1. Lifestyle stories which helps your audience create a desire in their mind
2. Product results which acts as your testimony of the product
3. Product images and how you use them to achieve your results

4. Google

This might seem like a “no brainer,” but with the rise of social media, sometimes Google is put on the back burner.

However, Google is still THE most used search engine in the world!

Use that tool!

Create a blog dedicated to your brand first, which strategically is focused around your network marketing product.

Be sure to implement SEO strategies to attract your target audience who is searching for your product.

5. Pinterest

Pinterest works really well in certain niches and if you are in one of those niches, you can tap into this untapped traffic source.

Because Pinterest is predominantly female-centric, the niches that do particularly well based on my observations are:

• Weight loss
• Fashion
• Food
• Craft
• Home and Decor

You will of course want to test this traffic source and see if it works for your network marketing business and specific niche.

6. YouTube

Another great and free platform to find leads for your network marketing business is YouTube.

Like Google and Pinterest, this is a search engine but the results are in video format.

The best use of YouTube, in my view, is creating “how-to” videos and educational content that teaches something.

Make sure that whatever content you create, is tied to your network marketing product or opportunity.

7. LinkedIn

This is the last channel that I would recommend in social media outlets for network marketing prospecting.

This is where you can create a professional portfolio and network within your niche to find MLM leads and network marketing leads.

First define your target audience.

Are they corporate moms, corporate dads, salon owners?

Once you have identified your target audience, connect with them by starting conversations.

These are all the options that you can use if you are on a tight budget, but if you have a little money to spend to help generate your leads and speed up the process, here are some paid options for you.

Where To Buy Networking Marketing Leads?

Let’s start this with what NOT to do first.

Though you CAN buy email lists for your niche market through email brokers, I don’t recommend doing this.

Why?

Because it is unethical especially since you do not have permission to email these users.

With regulators becoming so firm on anti-spam, I recommend avoiding this and instead implement one of the following strategies.

1. Work with bloggers or influencers

Did you know you can search for bloggers or influencers in your niche and ask them to promote your offer to their email list?

This is called networking at its most basic ability.

Bloggers or influencers have a targeted audience which you can leverage simply by creating an outreach campaign to contact bloggers/influencers and ask if they will send your email to their list of subscribers. 

Bloggers/influencers have what you want; that is, a targeted audience who is likely to respond to their recommendations.

When searching for bloggers/influencers, to find relevant ones you can use Google and the keyphrase – “niche” inurl:blog.

This makes it super easy to find tons of relevant blogs related to your niche.

Once you have identified a blog, who’s author you want to reach out to, check first to see if there is any information on how to advertise with them.

If not, a cold email requesting permission to email their subscribers is also a good idea. 

2. Social Medial Marketing

Most likely your ideal target audience hangs out on some social media platforms like Facebook or Instagram, Pinterest or YouTube.

By creating an ad campaign, you can use ad targeting criteria, to put your offer in front of a large number of users.

Some ad platforms like Facebook have extremely precise targeting ability when creating ads.

For example, you can target a mother who has children between the ages 1-6 and who is interested in working from home, if you have a product applicable to stay-at-home moms.

On YouTube you can target people who are interested in Crossfit or essential oils by defining their interests based on the videos they watch.

There is a real possibility that you can reach a large number of targeted people quickly, within your niche and you can dominate your market if you know how to use social media ad platforms properly.

Like anything else, before you start using paid ad campaigns, be sure to understand each ad platform before you invest money into it. I always rely on courses to help me do so.

Like social media marketing, you can use paid platforms like Google Adwords and Bing to generate leads for your business.

Search engine marketing is preferred to social media marketing, because you can target people who are searching for your product or opportunity, through the use of keywords.

When using search engine marketing pay attention to buyer intent keywords like the following, which means that the searcher is using the search engines with a strong intention of buying.

• [brand] weight loss supplements
• [brand] hair growth supplements
• [brand] essential oils
• how to join [brand]

4. Solo Ads

Solo ads are email blasts that you can buy from email list owners in specific niches.

They are very similar to targeting blogger’s/influencer’s email lists. The only difference is, these lists are mostly built by marketers who build their email lists for the sole purpose of renting them to advertisers.

There are companies like Udimi and MLM Leads that created platforms for solo ad vendors so instead of doing cold email outreach as you would for bloggers/influencers, you can visit these dedicated websites to purchase a solo ad by clicking this link.

Solo ads are ideal for business opportunity leads and weight loss leads. Any other niche outside these two main niches are unlikely to be served.

Why use paid advertising to generate leads

So why would you use paid advertising?

Because it is a faster method of traditional marketing and reaching a specific target audience.

If you are trying to get your business off the ground quickly, I strongly recommend that you invest in solutions that work.

This is a “Kickstarter” to your networking, awareness campaign and customer base.

It is worth spending some money to put your message in front of your ideal prospects instead of sifting through countless bad leads before you find the good one.

Have you ever heard the phrase “time is money” – this is where you implement that phrase into your business marketing plan.

Time is money and the faster you can generate good leads for your business the more successful it will be for you.

Converting Your Network Marketing and MLM Leads Into Sales

Now that we’ve talked about your methods of free and paid network marketing lead generation, we are going to move onto our final topic – converting your leads to sales!

Sales come from having a good product, creating an eye-catching and engaging ad and call to action and finally engaging with your prospects.

Engagement is the number one reason customers buy and become returning customers.

There are several ways that you can create this “open-ended” dialog with your prospects.

Here are a few that we recommend.

1. Email marketing

Tried and true email marketing thus far has stood the test of time against the number of changes with the internet, social media sites, bots and countless more!

Email marketing is what people are comfortable with.

However, statistics show that email marketing will be dead by 2020…that’s one year from now!

I suggest starting to implement some of these other methods while you can still pair two or more resources together.

2. Messenger bot marketing

This is the transition into the future.

Messenger bots are similar to email marketing in that they act as auto responders and help you communicate your message to your leads automatically, to facilitate lead nurturing activities.

The performance of messenger bots however, far out performs email marketing and is currently seen by marketers to be the preferred way of keeping in touch and following up with your leads.

These messenger bot platforms integrate with the Facebook platform and since Facebook has over one billion active users, it is no surprise that this type of marketing works well.

There are several messenger bot platforms but the leading ones are ManyChat and MobileMonkey.

3. Retargeting leads through remarketing ads

When you generate leads from your paid campaigns, you should not stop there.

You can mimic the nurture sequence that you will implement in your email and messenger bot marketing campaigns, in your remarketing ads.

Remarketing ads are simply ads that you serve to an audience who has already engaged with your content.

Ad platforms make it easy to remarket to your warm audience, by the use of pixel code that should be placed on your website before you begin an ad campaign.

Before starting an ad campaign, check the ad platform’s instructions on how to set up your pixel code.

4. Providing value through webinars and blog posts

This is all part of the nurturing process and should be part of your content strategy.

Provide your leads with content that adds value to their business and lives.

Make them realise that you know something in the industry that they don’t.

Offer free webinars, downloadable, and free content on your website.

Make sure you prove yourself a thought leader to your target audience, which demonstrates your authority and increases the trust you build with your leads.

5. Making calls to connect with leads

Not always do email marketing or messenger bot marketing aid in taking a lead from off the fence.

Building a connection on the phone is the most personable way to demonstrate to the lead that you are not only human but you can also address any questions or concerns immediately.

Some leads just need a steer in the right direction.

Some may not want to communicate with you by email but are waiting for a call.

I urge you to step away from behind the computer.

Once you have generated a lead and built a relationship with them, whether through an email sequence or webinar, invite your leads to get on a Skype call where they can speak to you one-on-one and help the lead to become a bit more comfortable in their decision to take the next step.

Wrapping Up

Lead generation for network marketing and MLM leads should be an integral part of your network marketing business.

If you are not generating leads consistently, you do not have a business.

I have touched on many ways that you can use free and paid methods to start generating MLM leads.

Remember that it all begins with using modern and up to date methods like network marketing funnels which helps to narrow your target audience so you only speak to the right people for your business.

Funnels are used across many different business models.

As a network marketer these are online marketing strategies that are current and which you can take steps to immediately include in your business.

My review of Clickfunnels vs LeadPages is going to give the blogger, affiliate marketer, ecom store owner and marketer a clue about whether these marketing tools are ideal for their business.

Hands up, if you would rather know what the deal is, before spending money and time trying to learn something that does not meet your expectation?

Well as a user of both marketing tools, I hope that I will be able to give you a clear picture of the features of these products and whether they are the right fit for your business

I know there are a ton of Clickfunnels vs Leadpages reviews, but I had not seen any, that specifically answers to who the user is.

Which is why I decided to take a different route and provide a review for each specific business owner.

I will be making this review as unbiased as possible. After all I do have certain gripes about both Clickfunnels and LeadPages that I’d like you to know about.

What is Clickfunnels?

I have so many people come to me and say they’d like to build a clickfunnel. Let me set the record straight by clarifying that Clickfunnels is the name of a product or more specifically an online software.

Just like Microsoft Word or Powerpoint, it is a product or online software that helps you build a sales funnel.

A sales funnel is a series of web pages dedicated to the promotion of a particular product or products that helps the business owner achieve a desired goal.

That goal may be a sale, lead generation, booking a consultation or call or whatever objective you may have.

It is different from your traditional website because it does not have features like external or internal links, navigation menus, etc.

In this regard, the funnel is the ideal marketing tool because it helps to keep the user (your target audience) focused on the main objective of the funnel.

The owner of the Clickfunnels product is Russel Bronson.

What is LeadPages?

LeadPages was designed as a lead generation software but it can also be used as a sales funnel.

That is because LeadPages also allows you to build sales pages that help you generate sales of products.

So just like Clickfunnels, you can use the LeadPages software to also generate leads, sales, consultation bookings or calls.

When you first get to the LeadPages home page, if your goal is to sell a product, you may be wondering whether LeadPages is the right product for you, since their focus is more on the lead generation aspect.

Don’t worry because you can take payments with this online platform as well which means that you can sell a product if you want to.

When compared to Clickfunnels, notice how Clickfunnels immediately addresses this, by pointing out almost everything that can be done with the Clickfunnels software.

ClickFunnels vs LeadPages Features

Rather than write a paragraph about the features in each of these online software, I decided to create a table setting out the main features so you can easily get an overview and comparison of each one.

I will then go into the specifics of each feature so you can learn a little bit more about it.

Mobile Friendly Templates

Both Clickfunnels and LeadPages have mobile friendly templates.

However, if I were to pick one for easy mobile responsiveness, my vote would go to LeadPages.

That is because, with Clickfunnels even though their pages can convert to mobile, you must manually adjust your text for mobile viewers, before publishing.

What I mean is, if on desktop you have used a font size of 32px, with Clickfunnels you want to make sure that the text is down-sized for mobile.

If you do not take this additional step the text will also appear large on mobile. Clickfunnels have catered to this by adding a mobile text button in their editor.

The difference with LeadPages however, is that the text and images are automatically down-sized for mobile.

Drag and Drop Interface

Designing a lead page or funnel is simple with their drag and drop interface.

No coding is necessary which makes Clickfunnels and LeadPages easy for amateurs who have no coding or design skill.

To build a page with Clickfunnels, you can either use one of their pre-designed templates and drag and drop any additional elements that you want to the page.

If you are starting from the beginning though you must understand how a Clickfunnel page is designed.

Each of their pages are made up of sections, rows and elements.

Each page starts with a section which is identified by the colour green, which contains a row identified by the colour blue and a row contains an element, identified by the colour orange.

The elements are your content boxes and it is from the content boxes that you can design your page.

LeadPages has a similar construction however to start designing your page, you only need to add a section then drag and drop your content.

So once again in terms of ease, LeadPages wins making it easier for the user to build their pages effortlessly.

Pop-Up Lead Boxes

If you do not want to create a sales funnel but still want a place to convert your visitors into leads from your website or blog, you can create pop up lead boxes with both Clickfunnels and LeadPages.

Clickfunnels refer to these lead boxes as Clickpops.

Once created you are given code to embed the box onto a website or blog that you own.

Such pop up box can be added to your website as a link or an image which when clicked, causes the box to pop open. If you’d like the box to appear automatically such as on time or on exit then you can configure the settings to generate these actions.

LeadPages refer to these boxes as lead boxes. They essentially operate in the same way as Clickfunnels’ clickpops do.

LeadPages’ lead boxes can be embedded by a link, button or image. They can also appear on time and on exit.

Payment Integration

The two most popular payment gateways, Stripe and Paypal, can be used with both Clickfunnels and LeadPages, however PayPal does not integrate with either.

What this means is that when used, PayPal does not fully become part of Clickfunnels or LeadPages, so when payments are made, Clickfunnels or LeadPages’ automated features do not activate.

For example, when integrated with Stripe and a payment is made by a user, Clickfunnels or LeadPages would redirect to a thank you page within the funnel and if set up, will store the buyer’s details in their database.

When PayPal is used however, this does not happen. Whilst there are work-arounds, it is something you must be conscious of, if you want to use any buyer data from the platforms.

Clickfunnels goes a step further and integrates with and allows access to other payment options. Sadly LeadPages only stops at Stripe and PayPal.

Finally if you wish to use payment gateways with LeadPages, you must upgrade to a Pro or Advanced account which is $79/month when paid monthly ($48/month when paid annually) for the Pro and $321/month when paid monthly ($199/month when paid annually) for the Advanced.

Tracking Codes

One of the most important elements of your funnel, especially when you are using paid advertising, is tracking.

If you are using paid ad campaigns like Facebook ads, Google Adwords or any other platform, you are able to add your tracking codes or pixels to both Clickfunnels and LeadPages.

It is very easy to add, all you do is copy and paste the code into a section provided by the platforms.

A/B Testing

Both Clickfunnels and LeadPages allow you to perform split tests on your landing pages and funnels.

When setting up the split tests, they are both easy to implement for either of the platforms.

All you do is create your control, which is the first variation of your page. Then create a variation which is a variation of your control page.

Both Clickfunnels and LeadPages will take note of the conversions that you are testing and let you know which one is performing better.

You can then mark whichever page has the better conversions as the winner of the split test.

This is great if you want to see what type of factors affect your visitors and helps you improve the overall performance of your campaign.

Marketing Tools Integrations

Clickfunnels and LeadPages integrates with many other marketing tools to make your marketing efforts seamless.

Here is a full list of all the integrations that Clickfunnels has.

If the marketing tool that you are looking for is not on the lists, then you can safely assume that it does not integrate but you can use the Zapier tool to help you connect one tool to the other.

Zapier is a web-based service that allows you to perform integrations with many different applications.   

Campaign Analytics

One thing I like about Clickfunnels and LeadPages is that it provides reporting on the performance of your campaign.

So you can see how a funnel or landing page that you created is performing and helps you make important decisions for your campaign.

Depending on how many pages there are in your funnel, Clickfunnels provides analytics for every page of the funnel.

The difference with LeadPages however is that several pages can make up a funnel which needs to be pieced together.

In that regard you must piece together your analytics for each page – so you do not get one global oversight like Clickfunnels provides.

This makes it a little more difficult to judge the overall performance of your funnel if several pages make up your funnel with LeadPages.

Here is what that looks like.

WordPress Plugin

If you have a WordPress website or blog you can integrate both Clickfunnels and LeadPages with their respective plugins.

This will allow you to use either Clickfunnels or LeadPages funnels or pages directly on your website or blog so that it looks as though the funnel or page is part of your website or blog.

This is just another way of directing visitors from your website or blog to your funnel or landing page but instead of going to a Clickfunnel or LeadPages domain, the users remain at your website or blog’s domain but still see your funnel or landing page.

That’s a pretty cool feature.

Lead Notifications

LeadPages notifies you when you have generated a lead through one of your landing pages.

This is a great feature if you have many lead pages and you want to keep track of which one is helping you acquire leads.

It is not a major feature in my opinion as I am not too concerned about lead notifications but for those who want to know, you can receive these notifications directly to your email inbox.

Clickfunnels does not have this feature.

As I mentioned it is not a significant feature to have as you will have many emails notifying you of leads when you can simply log into the platform to check how the lead page is doing.

Dedicated Support

Clickfunnels and LeadPages both have support available but one is definitely a winner out of the two.

LeadPages offers phone, live chat and email ticket support. They also have a library of support documents in case you need any help and want to do it yourself.

Phone support is however only available with LeadPages Advanced package.

Clickfunnels only offers email ticket support. So if you have an urgent matter, then you’re pretty much screwed. You will need to submit your ticket and then wait for their support team to respond.

Usually responses can take a few hours and up to a day.

Email Autoresponder Integration

One important function of the funnel and lead page is the ability to capture leads and place them directly in your chosen email autoresponder.

Don’t yet have an email autoresponder? Here’s one that I reviewed that I currently use and recommend. 

Clickfunnels and LeadPages integrate with many email autoresponders and allows you to connect to them easily.

Here are all Clickfunnels’ email integrations.

Here are all LeadPages’ email integrations.

Once again, if you do not see your email service provider on the list, you can always use Zapier to integrate, provided Zapier allows the connection.

Sub Accounts

If you have a team working with you, you can assign them manager accounts where they have their own sub account and can work on projects for you.

This helps so you won’t have to give the worker, access to your username and password since doing so makes it very risky for you as the account holder since they can access your account settings and do anything with it.

LeadPages offers sub accounts only with their Advanced plan. That means you have to shell out a whopping $321/month or $199/month billed annually for this benefit. With their Advanced plan you get 5 sub accounts.

I noticed that Clickfunnels does have the feature but it appears non-functional.

Even when I searched for literature on the topic there was none.

I will assume that maybe it is a feature they intend to install in the future but not right now.

SEO Friendly Pages

Clickfunnels and LeadPages allow you to optimise your landing pages and funnels for SEO (search engine optimisation).

Although they both allow you to implement some on-page SEO I wouldn’t solely rely on this feature to help your landing pages or funnels show up in the search engines.

There are other things that you can do such as:

• Having your own domain and URL and including a keyword in that domain/URL.
• Use keywords in your funnel or landing page that you’d like to rank for
• Build a content map to help your funnel and landing pages align to the visitors needs and desires. Don’t just create a funnel for the sake of. Keep your visitor’s desires in mind.

Web Hosting

The great thing about both Clickfunnels and LeadPages is that they provide their own web hosting.

So when you purchase a package with either platform, you do not have to look for separate hosting.

Both Clickfunnels and LeadPages host your funnels and landing pages on their servers. The only thing though is that when you host your funnels and landing pages with them, you must take on their domain.

For example, if you build a funnel with Clickfunnels, then your domain will be www.yourdomain.clickfunnels.com. If you build a landing page with LeadPages, your domain will be www.yourdomain.lpages.co.

This can look ugly if you are promoting your funnel or landing page and you may prefer to have your page align with your brand.

For that reason you can always use their domain assignment feature so you can replace their domains with your own.

Looking for cheap domains? Try Namecheap, Godaddy or Bluehost.

Domain Assignment

Clickfunnels and LeadPages both help you assign a custom domain to your funnels and landing pages making it more personal and branded to you.

I would strongly recommend that when starting on either Clickfunnels or LeadPages that you purchase a custom domain and connect it to Clickfunnels or LeadPages.

That way it is easier for your audience to find your funnels and landing pages and helps you create an identity for you, instead of one affiliated with the Clickfunnels or LeadPages domains.

Whilst you can purchase a separate domain from places like Godaddy, Namecheap or Bluehost, Clickfunnels allows you to claim a domain for free directly from their company for first time users.

If you have already claimed the domain then you can buy it at the retail price of $20 annually.

Customised HTML

What if you have an application, form, display banner or miscellaneous item that you want to install on your website using HTML?

Well both Clickfunnels and LeadPages have HTML elements that you can add to your funnel and landing pages to easily add these items to your pages.

For example, on a landing page that I designed with LeadPages to promote an affiliate product, I was easily able to add this gif banner to my page through their HTML feature.

So instead of adding an image and linking the image to your affiliate product, you can select the html code for the banner that your affiliate manager will provide to you and embed it on your page.

You can find the HTML widget in your LeadPages widget area.

The same for Clickfunnels. You can add the HTML element to your pages from your Clickfunnels editor.

Digital Asset Delivery

If you do not have an email autoresponder which you can use for delivery of digital products, or you have no place to host your documents, LeadPages and Clickfunnels digital assets delivery feature, allow you to store your documents on their platform and enable delivery when a user takes a specific action.

For example if you have a lead magnet that you want delivered to a lead when they opt in to a funnel, you must first add your digital asset to Clickfunnels from the digital asset menu.

Then you must set up outgoing emails so that Clickfunnels can send the email on your behalf.

Finally you must add the digital asset to the page where the opt in is being performed. This will be your opt in page.

LeadPages makes this process a lot easier for us.

To add your digital asset to LeadPages and have it delivered to your lead you only need to add the digital asset to the opt in page settings and LeadPages takes care of the rest.

There is no need to upload the digital asset and then select it on different pages. There is also no need to setup email SMTP settings for outgoing emails.

Adding a digital asset in LeadPages is a one-step process therefore eliminating the time and confusion that you get with Clickfunnels.

One Click Upsells

If you sell your own products or have an ecommerce store, the one click upsell feature is a great tool to help you increase the average order value of each order placed in your funnel and increase conversions.

Whilst I have never used LeadPages one click upsell feature (so I cannot say how easy or difficult the process is), they do have instructions on how to integrate this feature into a funnel you are managing.

The instructions look pretty simple, but when I read through them I do not like the technicality of the instruction.

It may be simple if you follow along slowly and take your time. If you do struggle to implement an upsell into your LeadPages funnel you can always fall back on the LeadPages support team for help.

Clickfunnels is a very simple process. You only need to drag and drop an upsell page into your funnel, design your page, add your product and that’s it.

You do not need to worry about any configuration.

Clickfunnels does all the hard work for you, so everything works smoothly.

Membership Areas

One special feature that Clickfunnels has, which is not integrated with LeadPages are membership sites.

A membership site allows you to house digital products such as a video library, ebooks or courses where free or paid members can get access via a username and password.

At one point LeadPages did offer a Wishlist membership site to Annual Pro members back in 2014 but it looks like this has been discontinued.

In any event, even if you no longer have access to this product with LeadPages you can always connect a LeadPages sales page to Wishlist separately if you want to.

Wishlist is a WordPress plugin so you must have a WordPress site to use this product.

Clickfunnels though has membership site features integrated into it so if you think you may want to create a membership site where your paying customers can get access to your products then you may want to consider Clickfunnels over LeadPages.

Affiliate Center

Clickfunnels helps you to offer affiliate commissions to affiliates for a product that you are selling.

Their affiliate center is great if you believe you have a great product, but need to get the word out about it.

By setting up an affiliate center, you can have people sign up and so be able to control their access to your product as an affiliate to promote it on your behalf.

The affiliate center is only available with Clickfunnels Etison suite however, so be prepared to spend at least $297/month for this feature.

Who Is Clickfunnels vs LeadPages For?

So now that you know the main features of Clickfunnels and LeadPages, this all probably does not make sense to you, if you do not really know how each product can help you in your business.

That’s what the next section is for. Simply follow your business model and read my unbiased view as to whether Clickfunnels or LeadPages can help you.

Does Clickfunnels or LeadPages work for affiliate marketing?

As an affiliate myself, I know how important sales funnels are for building email lists and guiding traffic to your affiliate product.

Even if you do not want to build an email list and you want to promote your affiliate product with advertorial type blog posts then you can use either Clickfunnels or LeadPages for this.

Because the affiliate funnel would be a simple two step funnel then you do not need any complicated software.

Both Clickfunnels and LeadPages are perfect for this. It will be up to you to decide how much you want to spend on your marketing tool to achieve this.

Bottom line?

I would recommend LeadPages although both Clickfunnels or LeadPages are great. 

Does Clickfunnels or LeadPages work for bloggers? 

Can Clickfunnels or LeadPages replace a blogger’s website? Yes it can, but it is not feasible and I certainly do not recommend the software for traditional blogging.

If however you want to create a one off blog post, like I did in my one blog post strategy for promoting a product, then the software is a good one.  

A blog comes with so many moving parts. You need navigation menus, the ability to post as many blog posts as you can, the ability to embed contact forms, etc; you really and truly need a conventional website.

This is why I would recommend that you use a content management site like WordPress.

If you already have a website or blog and you really want to use Clickfunnels or LeadPages then they can be used as a lead generation tool.

For example, you may wish to generate leads for the provision of content upgrades.

Clickfunnels and LeadPages allow you to embed code into your website where contact forms can be installed on your blog to generate leads.

In this regard Clickfunnels and LeadPages are beneficial to bloggers.

With both Clickfunnels and LeadPages you cannot add an inline contact form to your website but you can add a link or button which pops open to a contact form. Here is an example of what LeadPages looks like on my blog.

Bottom line?

Don’t use Clickfunnels or LeadPages for your blog but use them for your lead generation tools.

Does Clickfunnels or LeadPages work to sell physical or digital products? 

I would give this question a resounding yes. Clickfunnels and LeadPages are perfect if you want to sell a physical or digital product.

Because of price point, I use LeadPages for all my digital products – it is cost effective and achieves everything that I need, to create a great sales funnel to sell my products.

It can design great opt in pages, sales pages and has easy to implement payment and email integrations.

Although I do not use upsells in my LeadPages funnels, I cannot comment on the difference between LeadPages and Clickfunnels, but if you are looking to increase the average order value of each purchase with upsells, then you may wish to consider whether Clickfunnels or LeadPages will give you better value.

Does Clickfunnels or LeadPages work for ecommerce? 

Typically people use ecom-dedicated platforms like Woocommerce or Shopify to sell their ecom products.

Ecom funnels are however becoming very popular especially since it can help you drive massive sales to your business by focusing on a few core products from your ecom store.

This ensures that the customer only sees the specific products that you want them to see and that they are not given an overwhelming number of options.

In my opinion, the best platform for the ecom funnel is Clickfunnels. This is because they have specific well-thought out templates designed for ecom and makes the set-up process easy.

Although LeadPages do have ecom templates they are not as sophisticated as Clickfunnels.

You can use LeadPages for a simple product sale but if you want to include multiple products and have one time offers, upsells or downsells then I would strongly recommend Clickfunnels.

A two step funnel is ideal for promoting network marketing products, although some funnels can be simple – such as a lead opt in and thank you page; to more complicated – such as a lead opt in page and onboarding page.

To help you decide which platform to use you may want to consider ease of building the type of funnel and price point.

LeadPages can work very well for network marketing funnels and so you really do not need the sophisticated elements of Clickfunnels.

Bottom line?

I would recommend a simple platform like LeadPages for this type of funnel. It is up to you to decide which platform you eventually decide to use.

To succeed in network marketing, is really based on who you know and how big your network is.

To translate this into simple terms, you need a large enough audience to speak to and present your offer.

Even if you do not have a large network you can become a success with network marketing but it takes a few smart choices to make that work.

What I want to show you in this blog post, is how you can ultimately succeed in network marketing by following a few simple steps.

The problem with most network marketers, especially those who are beginning in network marketing, is that they do not follow a proven system.

They are told to talk to any and everyone about their product or opportunity and hope that someone says yes.

In fact, in my view, this is a recipe for disaster and frankly a waste of time because there are some people who will never buy what you are selling because they are simply not interested in what you are selling.

They are NOT part of your target audience.

Let’s put this into perspective.

You could have the best tasting chocolate chip cookies. It’s moist, gooey with the biggest pieces of chocolate chunks you have ever seen.

But try and sell them to vanilla lovers. No one’s going to buy because they simply don’t like chocolate.

And the model that today’s network marketing leaders teach about every person being a prospect, is the worst advice that you can give because you simply cannot sell a product to people who do not want it.

The Tools You Will Need For Prospecting And Recruiting

This is the part that cannot be missed.

But sadly it is the part that is either ignored or forgotten and sometimes not intentionally only because most network marketers are uninformed.

So I am here to inform you.

Lead Capture Page

This is what you will need to attract prospects to your business. Traditionally network marketers attend beauty events, launch parties or go to the malls and talk to any and everyone whose eye they meet.

Typically their prospecting goes something like this – they introduce the business, hand out a flyer and ask the question “is this something that you might be interested in”.

That question can receive an answer that goes one of two ways. Either yes and the prospect hangs on for more information or no and the prospect dismisses them and walks away.

And from my experience nine times out of ten, it is a no.

The lead capture page makes this entire scenario easier by introducing people to your product or service and capturing only those people who are interested in your offer (I will speak more about this later).

You can use many different lead capture page builders like Clickfunnels, GetResponse or LeadPages.

Clickfunnels is a paid software that helps you build lead capture pages. They offer a 14-day free trial and then their price starts from $97/month.

If Clickfunnels is too pricey, then you may wish to consider LeadPages as an alternative.

Email Autoresponder

Once you have started filtering out the ones who are not interested from the ones who are interested it is time to start following up with your prospects.

As a marketer it is ingrained in us, that the fortune is in the follow up.

Statistics say that it takes someone at least seven to eight times to see an offer before they commit to buy.

Traditionally network marketers receive a prospect’s contact number or may have added them on Facebook.

Usually they would follow up with their prospects by giving them a call that goes something like this,

Hey Susan, I am just checking whether you are still interested in my [product or offer] and can I help you get started today?

If they’re not up for calling the prospect, they may send them a text message or a private message on social media.

Either way it is likely that you will be ignored or you may not receive a commitment to purchase your product or buy from you.

Learn The Easier Way To Recruit Into Your Business

This is typically what happens to most network marketers.

So what do you do? You schedule a further followup with Susan about two weeks later and repeat the same process.

I don’t know about you but when I was a network marketer, I suffered from rejection syndrome. I absolutely hated it and this made me dread following up with my prospects.

With a marketing tool known as an email autoresponder you can eliminate this fear of rejection as the autoresponder will do all the following up for you on your behalf.

So there’s no more rejection, no more chasing or speaking to prospects. That is covered by your autoresponder.

This is how it works:

As you can see from the above image, I have scheduled five days’ worth of emails to be sent to my prospects. In each of those emails I am educating them, nurturing them and preparing them for my offer or product.

So essentially the autoresponder talks for me and provides more information about my product so that the prospect is pre-framed about whether the offer solves their problem.

And well if they are no longer interested, they can simply unsubscribe at any time.

So I never have to see that they have ignored me and I never have to see that they have blocked me. That’s all well and good in my eyes and I can continue finding more people to talk to by email and not get discouraged.

Other options for you are GetResponse or MailChimp.

Those are the two basic tools that you need. There are other tools that you can fit into your business to streamline everything but they are not absolutely essential.

How To Identify Your Target Market

Now that you have your tools set up it is important that you know who your audience is.

Who will your product serve and who is your ideal client.

Let’s say you are a part of a weight loss network marketing business and you are promoting a product that will help you lose weight in two weeks.

Start by writing a list of every type of person who you think this will appeal to. What comes to mind are:

• Women who are soon-to-be brides
• Men who are soon-to-be grooms
• Women who have just had a baby and wants to lose their baby weight
• Women who need to lose weight for health reasons
• Men who need to lose weight for health reasons
• Women who are embarking on a vacation
• Men who are embarking on a vacation
• Women who like to keep fit
• Men who like to keep fit

Why do you want to target these people?

Well they have a problem (weight) and they need a solution (to lose it) which you can help solve with your product or service.

The same can be done for your business opportunity. If you want to recruit consultants into your business repeat the process.

Who is your target market? Who will be a good fit for this type of opportunity?

• Low paid employees
• High paid but overworked employees
• Stay at home moms and dads
• Unemployed persons
• Job seekers
• College/university students
• Business opportunity seekers

Why do you want to target these people?

They may want to supplement their income to help pay the bills at home. For the overworked employees they may hate their job and want more freedom of time.

Stay at home moms and dads may want to take on a challenge and occupy their time with something that can make them money in their spare time.

Unemployed persons may be looking for a way to earn money from home. Same for the job seekers.

College/University students have massive debt and would love a way to earn extra whilst they study so they can pay off their debt.

Business opportunity seekers are the ideal people because they are looking for what you have to offer.

Later on, I will speak about where you can find these people.

How To Talk To Your Target Market To Stimulate A Response   

Once you have identified who you are going to speak to, you now need to engage and interact with them.

So far you have learnt how to filter people who are not the right fit for your business by using a lead capture page to only speak to interested people.

You have also learnt how to identify those people who may be interested in your product or service.

Now I am going to show you, how to connect with these people.

The lead capture page will not do the talking by itself, unless you tell it what to say.

So you must give your lead capture page an appropriate headline for your specific product.

The headline is what will catch your audience’s attention. If they believe that your offer can help them solve a problem, then they will ask for more information by providing their contact details to learn more. Let’s see how this can be done automatically.

Here is how to construct a headline   

By using the weight loss example ask yourself what does your ideal customer want to achieve? What is their desired outcome?

Your list might look something like this:

• A more beautiful appearance
• Improved Self confidence/self love/self esteem
• Healthier body
• To have the energy to play with their kids
• To feel more attractive to their spouse
• To be able to look in the mirror without feeling embarrassed
• To have a better mood

Now considering their desired outcome can you think of some words that your audience use in their daily lives when it comes to weight loss? To answer this question, think of your ideal customer having a conversation with their best friend.

What words are they using?

• Sexy
• Heavy
• Unattractive
• Diet
• Hate
• Love
• Secure
• Eat Less

Now let’s put this all together to construct the perfect headline to “talk” to our target customer. The formula that is mostly used by marketers would be the How To headline and goes like this

|How to [desired result] and [other desired result using familiar language] without [pain point]

That can translate into something like this:

|How to lose weight and improve your self confidence without eating less of what you love.

Other headline formulas include the Question Formula:

|Are you tired of giving up what you love to eat to achieve a sexier body? Well you no longer have to.

If you are enticing your ideal customer with a free report on how to lose weight, you might offer them something in exchange for their contact details.

In that case you can use the Shocking Headline Formula

|Learn how [prospect match] lost [desired outcome] without [pain].

An example would be

|Learn how this 300lb woman lost 182lbs within 3 months without giving up junk food.

Do you see how it is done?

Using these formulas you can now speak to your target audience which in turn prompts them to respond to your lead capture page by giving you their contact details.

How To Filter And Speak To Only Those People Who Are Interested In Your Offer

The lesson that I learnt when I started network marketing was that not everyone is going to be interested in my product or offer.

Sometimes, they may be interested but it may not be the right time. They may not have the money to make a purchase immediately or it is not a product or service that they need or feel it would benefit them.

Using our lead capture page, you will now be able to isolate those people who do not need your product or service from those people who believe that your product or service can help them.

This is what a typical lead capture page looks like.

The lead capture page comprises three elements:

• Image of the product or service that is being offered
• Ethical bribe to entice the prospect to hand over their contact details
• Call to action which is a command to the prospect to take the desired action

In the above example when the prospect clicks on the call to action button, that big orange button that screams “GET THE COUPON” they will be prompted with a second page to enter their contact details.

So using the headline formulas mentioned above which goes on your lead capture page, only those people who are remotely interested in your product or service will enter their contact details and proceed to the next round which is your pre-frame.

How To Pre-Frame People Who Are Interested In Your Offer

When your prospect identifies themselves as an ideal prospect, the marketing does not stop there.

Traditionally when the network marketer gets a yes to the question whether the prospect is interested, they will go on to talk about the features and benefits to the prospect.

This concept can be imitated by using what is known as a bridge page in your marketing.

Bridge Page

A bridge page is simply the second page of your marketing sequence and seeks to close the gap between those people who may be interested in your product or service and those who ARE interested in your product or service.

Think of your bridge page as a connector between your introduction to your customer and closing the sale.

The bridge page’s purpose is to warm up your potential customer to the idea of the product or service. Essentially on your bridge page you are going to introduce the product or service, talk about the features, the benefits and how it can help them. Just like you would do in person, but now you will have a marketing tool that does the talking for you.  

Learn The Easier Way To Recruit Into Your Business

Other elements of a bridge page include:

A direct call to action to buy

Sometimes if you never ask for the sale, you will never get the sale. So on a bridge page you can talk to those people who will immediately want your product or service.

Remember that the first time they have entered their contact details on your lead page, already pre-qualifies them for the product or service as they have already said yes.

They have expressed an interest so now you need to lead them in the right direction by asking for the sale.

The guarantee

Can you offer your prospect a guarantee that they will achieve a desired result so there is no risk in purchasing the product? This guarantee could be a company guarantee or a personal guarantee such as 24/7 support within the first 7 days, on-boarding or some additional value.

Proof

Testimonials and reviews of products or results achieved by other users act as social proof that your product or service does what it says. You should be able to show here that other people have achieved the benefit that is outlined on your product or service.

Bonus

Do you have any extra bonuses that you can offer to the prospect? This is where you can mention it as an incentive to buy your product or service now.    

Your bridge page is built by the same software that you use to build your lead capture page.

Remember that you can use one marketing tool – Clickfunnels or LeadPages – to create this automated system.

Here is what a bridge page looks like.

How To Close The Deal

After the bridge page comes the sales page. Provided you have implemented the steps outlined above your efforts could result in two outcomes.

The prospect goes on to complete the sale or they have been educated about your product or service but are not yet ready to buy.

If your prospect goes on to complete the sale using the buy button on your bridge page, then great. You have closed your first sale using this process.

If not, this is where your email autoresponder comes in.

It will then be up to the messages you write in your email autoresponder to warm up the prospect even more to the point where they do decide to buy your product or service

Here are a few examples of what your follow up messages should look like:

Your day 1 message 

Introduce yourself, who you are and remind them about why they are receiving your message.

Your day 2 message

Introduce the product again and divert the prospect back to your bridge page using a URL link in your email message. Your message can look like this:

Hey [prospect’s name]

Remember I spoke about [your product or service].

I just wanted to remind you about it’s benefits which you can see here [URL to bridge page].

If you have any questions feel free to reply to this email.

Cheers

[Your name]

Your day 4 message

Soft pitch. We have intentionally skipped day 3 as we want to give the prospect room to breathe.

In this email outline the benefits of the product or service and direct the prospect to try the product or service. Your message may sound like this:

Hey [prospect’s name]

One of my customers provided an awesome testimonial of [product or service] and here’s what she had to say:

[Testimonial]

Check out the [product or service] here [URL to sales page] if you might be interested in getting started now.

Cheers

[Your name]

Your day 5 message

Offer additional value to your prospect. Something unrelated to the product or service but relevant to the prospect.

For example, if you are selling a weight loss item you may offer a free report on yoga poses.

If you are promoting a business opportunity, you may offer some tips on how to recruit. Make it valuable to them preparing them for the type of support you can offer.

Your day 6 message 

Hard sale. This is where you ask for the sale outright. Propose the product or service in a way that it is irresistible and has an element of scarcity. For example

Hey [prospect]

Today I decided to do something that I never did before.

I am now offering a free [report, PDF, Ebook] to any person who buys the [product/service] today.

Click this link to buy the [product/service]

I have offered these great examples to you, so you can model after them and try them in your own email autoresponder.

Let me know how it works out.

Pro tip: Use videos in your emails to help build stronger connections so the prospect can see you are a real person. Include images of yourself. BE PERSONABLE.

I was fortunate enough to crack the code on how to get multiple leads and sales into my business on demand. Whilst my fellow network marketers were still trying to figure out how to get even two or three people to say those magical words “YES”.

But hold up… wait a minute!

Things were not always like this. Three years ago when I first started my network marketing business, I was struggling to get any one to look at the products or the opportunity. In fact for six months I was trying to figure out this whole network marketing game.

And that’s what I want to tell you about.

It took me a while to decide on the topic of this article because I was trying to figure out what content would make a good read and offer a great user experience for my network marketing friends.

I am part of a mastermind group of bloggers and one of the comments made by the members was that most of the blog posts were regurgitated content but had no personal experience attached to it.

So I decided to write a case study of my personal experience and particularly my first year in network marketing.

Essentially I am giving you a synopsis of all my fails (the things that went wrong) and all my triumphs (the things that went right) so maybe you can learn from my experience and perhaps implement some of the things that I used to finally succeed.

So here is my journey.

My First Year In Network Marketing And What I Would Do Differently

The first time I heard about network marketing was in the year 2014 when I joined the company It Works Global.

A little disclaimer before I continue. I no longer promote It Works Global so there is no affiliation between me and the company whatsoever.

When you join a business opportunity you join under a representative who is referred to as your sponsor. They take you under their wing so to speak and train you so that you understand how to get sales into your business.

I had never done network marketing before so knew nothing about how to speak to people, what to expect, how to get customers and most importantly how to sell.

My sponsor told me that the key way of getting leads and sales was to join as many Facebook groups as possible and to post about the product regularly.

Before and after pictures worked the best.

So I did my first post and I got about thirty responses. Happy dance! Woohoo!

But the minute I entered into conversation with the prospect to discuss the sale, I got crickets. Booooooooo!

Some were nice enough to tell me “never mind” or “not interested” but it made me wonder out of all thirty leads, not one person bought the product! Scratches head!

Dayyyyum!!

What did I do wrong?

So I went back to my sponsor and spoke to her about my sudden downward spiral. She was not surprised at all. All she said was “keep going”.

Hmmmmm. Here I am, poor little confused girl.

Does that mean that this is normal??

Apparently it was and as I spoke to other network marketers, from that day on, I began to understand that this was my struggle and what I was about to face.

So I put on my thinking cap and I got to work.

I began doing research to find out how other people were building their network marketing business. Some were using Instagram and others Facebook so I decided to focus on those two platforms to promote my business.

I was able to grow my Instagram account to over 25.5k followers in less than a year and had over 800 fans on my Facebook fan page.

Then I promoted the heck out of my business.

What I did was post as often as I could. From January 2015 until about August 2015 I focused on heavy promotion and incorporated some lifestyle posts, success stories and product posts.

I did that consistently and was able to build a team of 120 reps with about 20 of them personally sponsored.  This meant I was recruiting about 3 distributors into my business within a month.

Product sales were not bad during the time either. With my strategy, I was able to get about 10 customers every month and this was my number consistently.

But with all the work I was doing I crashed and burned.

Let me tell you something!

Although I counted my journey as a success because I was recruiting and adding customers to my payline, it was the hardest success to achieve.

Yet still I was not making near enough my income goal.

When I calculated everything I was actually only making about $2.14 an hour!!

And when I saw the numbers that prompted me to take some time away from network marketing, refocus and come from a different angle.

So that essentially was my journey in my network marketing business in my first year.

Why I Persevered?

To be honest, after all that effort and to realise that I was only making $2.14 an hour, I could have given up.

In fact I think that this is the number one reason why many people who start a business, do not succeed.

It is because of their mindset.

The only thing that kept me going were my dreams and the goals I had for my family. That was my why.

But many other people want results right now and they are not prepared to invest in themselves to find the solutions to their problems.

My first year was definitely a learning curve. I came from a legal background so had no experience with selling or marketing a product.

But I did enjoy connecting with other marketers and learning different strategies that were working.

If I had to do it all over again using the techniques that I know now, here is what I would do.

After two and a half years of being a network marketer and six months of taking my business online I have learnt so much.

I now know that to get massive results there is a right way to approach network marketing and VERY wrong ways to approach network marketing.

What I Would Do Differently

Make Smart Investments

By making smart investments in myself and my business, I was able to transform my struggling network marketing business, where I went from recruiting 2 to 3 reps per month to recruiting over 20 reps in a month. Jaw drop right?!

What did I invest in? I invested in my first marketing course which taught me how to “sell a product” without actually selling it.

This was the best investment that I could make for myself as it opened my eyes to the possibility of recruiting and generating sales into my business using the internet.

Use Email Marketing For Follow Ups

When I finished the internet marketing course I was introduced to the concept of email marketing.

This allowed me to work on building an email list and follow up with my prospects via email. So rather than messaging my prospects one by one via Instagram direct message or Facebook messenger, I was able to connect with my prospects all at once with an email autoresponder.

The email autoresponder sent emails to my prospects on my behalf and cut out a huge amount of time that I would usually spend following up with prospects to see if they were still interested in purchasing a product or joining as a distributor.

The biggest thing that I loved about email marketing is that I did not have to worry about facing rejection.

My one grudge when I messaged my prospects in my first year was they not responding to my messages.

HELLOOOOOOO!! It’s not hard to respond to a message merely saying you are no longer interested!

Why leave me hanging when you can simply type those five simple words and let me go my way??!!

Rant over!

This was my pet peeve but gladly with the help of email marketing I no longer had to experience that.

For email marketing I used the Aweber marketing software which gave me the ability to store 500 contacts’ email addresses for $19.00/month.

Use Lead Capture Pages to Capture Prospects Information

If you told me in my first year that I could actually make sales in my business without chasing anyone, without cold messaging or begging anyone to buy my product I would have asked you where do I sign up?

Sadly it took me just about two years to figure that out.

But it’s all good.

Because the exposure that I got in my first year of network marketing, helped me to educate other network marketers and shield them from the gruelling months even years of frustration.

This was the biggest problem for me and I am sure it was for other network marketers.

No one really wants to be hustling for a sale.

Sure there are some good ways of hustling and there are bad ways of hustling.

However literally begging and chasing after someone just to get paid was not my cup of tea.

Thankfully I was introduced to these little things called lead capture pages. You may have also heard of them as landing pages, squeeze pages or opt in forms.

Whatever you know them as, they were a HUGE LIFESAVER for me in my business.

Actually it was a combination of the lead capture pages and the email marketing software that gave me massive amounts of freedom and I was able to pretty much run the sales process on autopilot.

No longer did I have to awkwardly start a conversation by asking someone to consider buying my product.

Nor did I have to follow up with my prospects only to be told that they had postponed the sale or they were no longer interested or simply blocked me (Ugh, how rude!!).

I had a lead capture page working for me and I was able to target the right people who wanted my products and the opportunity.

For my lead capture pages I used Clickfunnels. This an awesome piece of software and you can read all about it in my review here.

Clickfunnels does come with a hefty price tag of $97/month but this was so worth it with the number of leads and sales that I got into my business. They do have a 14 day free trial so you can try it out here and see if it is something worth investing in.

For me it certainly was as it allowed me to take control of my business, make it more streamlined and gave me a good bit of piece of mind.

I also found another piece of software, not as good as Clickfunnels but more budget friendly.

Recruited and Produced Sales With Advertisements

Game changer!

That is the only real way that I could describe what happened within the three months that I restructured my network marketing business.

Oh my goodness!

The reason that this worked for me was because I was the introvert.

Sure I built up tough skin after all those Nos and rejections but looking for people to join my business by advertising the opportunity and the products created a massive shift in my business.

Damn! For the first year on looking back I knew I left a lot and I mean A LOT of money on the table.  

That was money for the smarter network marketers who had figured out this deal a long time ago.

What advertising did for me and my business blew everything else out of the water.

I was now finding the ideal prospect who would convert to a customer without much hassle.

You see when you learn how to do advertising properly you can target the right people for your business.

Not chase after every Tom, Dick and Harry hoping that they would say yes. I wasted a huge amount of time doing that.

Thankfully I had a coach who taught me the skills on how to advertise with platforms such as Bing Ads, Google Ads or Facebook Ads.

Now I only get to offer my product or opportunity to people who actually want it rather than people who would “think about it”.

If ever you decide to change strategies and implement this super amazing thing called advertising in your network marketing business, I cannot give enough praise to the creators of the Social Traffic Blueprint course, Jon Penberthy and Jubril Agoro who were so patient with me and taught me how to use Facebook Ads step by step.

It has been a little over a year since I started using Facebook ads for my network marketing business and the response has been absolutely insane.

By using all these marketing tools in my business I went from crickets to this…

An abundance of people asking me for more information rather than me chasing them.

I was able to build my business with passion and enjoy it because I no longer felt stressed out by knocking my head against concrete blocks trying to sell a product and getting no where.

Network marketing is a great way to change your life but only if you go about it the right way. I have had a lot of stepping stones and grown a lot in the process.

Whilst I am no longer doing network marketing I am grateful for it because it would not have made me the person who I am today. A well educated, passionate business woman who is simply sharing her entrepreneurial journey with other ambitious like-minded beautiful spirits.

I quit network marketing in December 2016 and decided to focus on blogging and affiliate marketing. Only because there was less regulation of the way I worked and I was able to double my income considerably in the process.

In fact it was the first thing that I was told to do when I started my direct sales business.

Dawn you have to have a launch party!

A launch party I said? I did not have a place to have a party let alone the friends to come to my party!

I was the one who had very few friends and living in a studio apartment at the time.

So having a launch party was simply out of the question.

But despite the fact that I did not have parties, I was still successful in recruiting tons of people AND making tons of product sales in my business.

The thing is, when most people were doing parties, I took the time to learn different strategies that made me stand out. 

In an industry where competition is HUGE it is important to make the difference.

Sometimes going in the opposite direction is OK.

I would admit that a few Facebook parties did get me sales here and there, but what actually skyrocketed my business was using new, modern-day approaches to direct sales.

So what did I do differently?

5 Simple Ways To Grow Your Direct Sales Business Without Having Parties

1. Online Marketing

There is so much power in the internet and there is a reason why most successful businesses leverage this platform.

But many direct sales consultants seem to forget that it is there or if they know it is there, they do not know how to use it.

The internet provides a playground of opportunity, to find people who are searching for AND interested in your products when you have exhausted your warm market.

When I started direct selling, I went through my warm market in a matter of days.

Although I was trained to use social media outlets like Instagram and Facebook to find new prospects, many other people were also doing that!

It is no wonder why I sucked big time at trying to build a brand for myself. I mean, every time someone reached out to me in my DMs about my product, they usually followed up with something like “Oh yea! XYZ told me about this so I would buy from her”.

I had to come up with an alternative and it was to use the internet.

Using the internet to build a brand for yourself opens so many doors because you are in touch with a lot more people, both locally and internationally.

If you really understand how to use the internet to build a global direct sales company, then you can build a huge business. Check out my latest article where I explain how to build a global direct sales business.

It also meant that I could target people who were actually looking for my product rather than rely on people who only supported me, because I was a friend or family member.

So here’s what this looks like when I do a search, using my keyword research tool, to find people who are looking for a specific direct sales product.

Let’s say that product is the infamous skinny wrap that helps you tighten loose skin.

When I search for a keyword that could be searched by people on Google or other search engines, this is the type of results I get:

The above screenshot shows you the keyword that I have entered on the left which is “tighten loose skin” and on the right, it shows you the potential volume of searches on the search engines for variations of the keyword.

So for example, “loose stomach skin” gets approximately 1300 searches on the search engines. “Tummy skin tightening” get approximately 590 searches on the search engines.

This means that you have the opportunity to show your product to these people who are actually searching for a solution to “loose stomach skin” and “tummy skin tightening”.

And if you market your product properly to those people, then they are more likely to buy that product.

That is what is so amazing about search engine marketing.

Meanwhile on Instagram or Facebook, I was taught that every person I spoke to was a potential prospect. Knowing what I know now, I have to say … not really!

I would waste hours searching for that ONE person to say yes, when I had thousands of targeted people on Google who wants a solution to loose skin.

The most important thing that you can learn here, is to go after targeted people, as opposed to everyone.

It will make your life so much easier and running your business so much fun!

How To Convert Searchers Into Leads and Buyers?

This was a secret that no company to my mind ever mentioned, although I strongly believe that every direct sales consultant should use.

(Before you use these methods, make sure that your company policy supports it.)

I used a marketing sales funnel. 

What Is a Marketing Sales Funnel?

A marketing sales funnel automatically introduces a prospect to my product via a lead capture page. 

A lead capture page, is a website page where I tell my audience what I have to offer, then entice them with something free in exchange for their name and email address.

By having a lead capture page, I was building an email list for my direct sales business so that I could find new prospects for my business.

My lead capture page will then take my prospect to a bridge page where I speak about the product and tell them more about why they should buy it and how it can solve their problems.

The bridge page also includes a link that directs the prospect to the website where they can purchase the product if they want to.

By using Google and other search engines, I could easily target my ideal customer and ask Google to show that potential customer my lead capture page via an internet link.

A marketing sales funnel, literally catapulted my business to success and gave me the freedom of time that I desperately needed.

Marketing sales funnel builders like Clickfunnels and LeadPages allow you to create a targeted website, then use that website to capture people’s information who are really interested in your offer.

This meant that I no longer had to speak to over 100 people, just to find that one person who would say yes.

It also meant that I could automatically get sales into my business, without me speaking directly to my prospect. The sales funnel did all the talking for me.

2. Email Marketing

You have probably heard somewhere before that “the money is in the list”.

Yet you are probably not building your email list at all.

An email list, is simply a list of subscribers who provide their email to you, so you can send them promotional content like newsletters, product offers or posts directly to their email address.

Do you know that social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook or Snapchat do not belong to us?

When we build an audience using these channels, there is a risk that it can easily be taken away from us when we least expect it.

Imagine growing your audience to over 20,000 people. Now imagine the time and effort put in and then one day it is wiped out! Gone!

This is why you should be working on building your email list as any audience we create here belongs to us.

Yes! We have complete ownership of our email lists.

When I started building my email list I did not quite understand the phrase “the money is in the list”.

Now that I have an email list of over 1000 targeted subscribers, I can send one email with valuable content and generate a sale from that email blast.

Optinmonster also confirms the effectiveness of email marketing over social media with their blog post Email Marketing v Social Media Performance.

So how do you start building an email list?

Well you must have the following tools to start:

• A website or lead capture page – I use LeadPages for my lead capture page builder but you can also use Clickfunnels or any of these awesome builders to start.
• Email autoresponder – I use and recommend Aweber because it makes sure that all my emails are sent directly to my prospects’ inbox. There is also GetResponse which is another great autoresponder and they have some pretty neat lead capture pages as well.

I then strategically place my website link, on the internet or my social media accounts and capture prospects’ details if they want more information about my product.

Building an email list allowed me to easily follow up with my prospects and continue to remind them about my products.

This was a key way that helped me to get so many sales into my business.

3. Blogging

If it is one thing that you can do for your direct sales business, it is blogging.

That is because blogging allows you to provide a hub where prospects can go to, to get more in-depth information about you and your product.

I DO NOT recommend your company’s website blog, but your own personal blog that is hosted by you.

The reason why I would recommend your own personal blog, is because it belongs completely to you.

What is a blog?

A blog is like your home on the internet. It is a place that you fill with content on just about anything.

So if you are in direct sales and you are selling hair care products, you can personalise your blog with posts about hair care that will help viewers solve their problems.

A blog will help grow your business

If you optimise your blog so that it can be found in search engines, you are accessible by many more people than you can meet at home parties or Facebook parties.

With parties, most times you operate in ways that are sales-oriented. You really only have about an hour to impress upon your prospect why they should buy your product.

Let us not forget that people do not like being sold to.

However with a blog, your prospects have the time to read your helpful posts.

If the right amount of value is provided, you bet they will be ready to buy immediately.

A blog helps establish trust and credibility

When you write a blog, you establish yourself as an expert. Do not worry if you are new to blogging or your direct sales company.

You can easily do research on your company’s products and write posts in your own words. The internet is also full of resources that help you to recreate posts that provide solutions to your prospects.

By blogging, you stand out and this can be your unique selling point.

After all, you are using a forum that other direct sales consultants hardly or do not ever use!

Furthermore when you present yourself as an expert, more people will trust your recommendation and are thus more likely to buy from you.

4. Facebook Marketing

Yes you can use Facebook groups to promote your products to your circle via Facebook parties but Facebook is bigger than that.

Just like online marketing, Facebook has a huge database of information on its users.

This allows you to specifically target people who may be interested in your products.

So if you are a direct sales consultant in a weight loss company, you can create an ad and ask Facebook to show it to people who are interested in Diets and Weight Loss or Easy Weight Loss.

Do you think these people will be interested in your product that helps them to lose weight?

Of course they will be.

So not only are you connecting with people who are not in your inner circle but you are connecting with the right kind of people who are ten times more likely to buy your product because they are interested in it.

When you use Facebook’s platform in this way you can collect your prospects’ information exactly as you would by using lead capture pages if you want to use email marketing to follow up with them later on.

If Facebook Ads is your choice of growing your direct sales business without having parties, then I would strongly recommend the Social Traffic Blueprint Facebook Ads Course by Jon Penberthy and Jubril Agoro.

They teach you everything you need to know about how to place a Facebook ad the right way. I would not try Facebook ads without doing a course or understanding the ad platform thoroughly as you can waste a lot of money. Be sure to also check out Facebook Blueprint which is a user guidance for Facebook Ads.

5. Pinterest

If you are in direct sales then Pinterest is one of THE best platforms that you can use to grow your business.

Best of all, it is a FREE platform.

Not many people go to Pinterest because it is one of those social media outlets that is rarely heard of for business, but did you know that Pinterest has more than 150 million monthly active users and is actually a search engine? So people are actually searching for solutions to their problems on there.

I have said over and over that I absolutely LOVE Pinterest. It is the one place where I can showcase my business through my blog and get targeted leads and sales.

With Pinterest you can surf visually stimulating images and get ideas for hair styles, wardrobes or gift ideas.

I however use it strategically to drive traffic to my blog or website.

Check out the amount of traffic that I am getting from Pinterest to my blog below.

Do you think that if you can get this amount of traffic to your website that you can make a few good product sales?

To learn how to use Pinterest I first invested in a course called the Pinterest Traffic Avalanche course by Alex Nerney and Lauren McManus. This course taught me some really cool things on how to increase traffic to my website with Pinterest.

In the course they also teach you pinning strategies, how to create viral pins that get the most traffic amongst other valuable lessons to grow your business. If you wish to use Pinterest as a traffic source feel free to check out the course here.

How to create pins

How I do this, is I create beautiful pins using an easy to use graphic tool like PicMonkey and stock photos from Shutterstock, then connect that pin to my blog.

I then share my pins in targeted group boards where I can connect with people who may be interested in one of my topics.

So for example, I am a part of many network marketing, direct sales and affiliate marketing group boards because I know that people on these boards have followed it because they are interested in it.

Before now, I would have never thought about using Pinterest as a business tool but once I discovered that I could actually grow my business using it, I became absolutely hooked on the idea.

Final Thoughts

Online marketing is huge. It is a known fact that the top direct sales consultants grow their business using the internet and with the help of various marketing tools.

However even today, consultants are still encouraged to use the “belly-to-belly” strategy which in my view only helps you achieve mediocre results.

I am a Younique consultant and would like to know if it is a good idea to use a blog to promote Younique products?

Immediately I thought, “Heck yea!”

When I thought more about the topic and looked further into it, I realised that whilst blogging has been around for a good few years, not many network marketers are using this platform to promote their business.

And this is the reason why – people are simply following other unsuccessful people and the masses are not blogging! 

So if every Jane, Julie and Anna are not blogging, then why should anyone else consider doing it?

If many people are not doing it, does that not mean that it is not profitable? Why would anyone want to stray from the norm?

And herein lies the reason for this blog post and WHY you should really be blogging as a network marketer.

Before I go anymore into the reasons why, let us look at some top network marketers who are crushing it with their network marketing blog.

• Julie and Pauli Kalungi are home based business trainers and mentors who have grown in network marketing through their blog. They really took off educating themselves on the ins and outs of network marketing and built info products around their brand with the goal that their blog will be a “one stop shop”.
• Jelena Otrovska is a Russian network marketer who used her blog to become a top earner in her company. She is now a certified coach helping other network marketers master network marketing.
• Michelle and Bill Pescosolido are network marketing enthusiasts who now enjoy six figure incomes from building their brand on the internet. Their joy is helping other network marketers build their business online. They started network marketing after Michelle wanted a way to make money from home as a stay at home parent. The internet and social media helped her create massive wealth by helping other people successfully live out their dreams.
• Tanya Aliza joined network marketing in 2009 and in 2010 took her business online. By taking her business on the internet and making a home for herself, she became the number three recruiter in her company and promotes different tools and resources on her blog to help other network marketers do just as she did.

The one thing that these marketers have in common is that the moment they took their business online and started using websites to recruit other network marketers into their businesses, they found success.

If you look at their websites you will see that it is a place where they host all their products and different programs that they use to build their business.

Their blogs also tell their story and deliver messages which are used by many as training platforms and best of all for the top earners, their business is all automated.

This is exactly how top earners become top earners in this industry and it is still amazing that not many marketers are using this.

So let us talk about…

The Top 5 Reasons You Should Have A Network Marketing Blog

1. Helps You Stand Out

Not every network marketer has a blog and when you do, it helps you to stand out from the rest.

It shows prospects that you are not “just another network marketer”.

There are many network marketers that a prospect can choose to buy from or join, so you need to give them a reason to choose you over your competitors.

What will make you unique is your selling point. What else can you offer?

You will see later on, that a blog can help you gain authority and credibility. Especially when you are providing tons of value on a subject and can give your prospect a place to go to for resources that probably was not already there.

For example, most network marketers would give a prospect a website link to their company’s landing page. The prospect may be has seen it many times but when you come from a different direction and show them something that they have not seen, it keeps you in their mind.

Having a blog shows that you are providing an extended service to the prospect.

So you may have weight loss recipes or tips and advice for losing weight faster which other network marketers do not have.

You may provide product reviews to help the prospect decide whether to buy your product.

Be a distributor in a new way and stand out from the all too familiar crowd.

2. Creates A Home For You And Your Brand

With a network marketing blog you can add anything to it that you want to help a prospect get to know you.

It is your central hub to showcase all there is to know about you. You will then be able to leverage that hub and channel your prospect to other marketing platforms that promote your brand.

For example, you may have social media sites that you can direct your prospect to. You can connect better with them in a Facebook community group or on a YouTube channel.

Your blog can act as a training ground where you host content that will help your team learn more about your business building strategies.

Without this, you may have to take a more hands-on approach to training your team. In my article How To Automate Your Business And Take Control Of Your Life, I spoke about how a blog can be used to automate your business so you can get more freedom of time to focus on other things that matter.

You can also use a blog to “talk” about your products and do the selling for you.

3. Become An Expert Or An Authority

People use blogs to create content that establishes them as an authority or expert.

Now you may be thinking that you cannot be an expert when you are just getting started with network marketing.

This was one of the issues that Tanya Aliza had when she first started blogging and she said

… this was a concern of mine in the past before I drew a line in the sand and got started. The reality is that when you have your Brand, Blog and Sales Funnel built, people will automatically think you’re successful. That’s what happened to me.

Ray Higdon also said that he started teaching other people what he was learning even though he had no results.

So the point is, you can be an expert even if you have very little proof of your progress.

You can also do this with a blog by writing about the things that you have learnt. Then simply build a platform where people come to you, for information to help them solve their problems.

Soon enough you will have a library of knowledge which then helps to promote your credibility and authority in your niche.

When you have that credibility and authority, people are more likely to buy anything from you. This is when you will use your sales funnels to sell your products and make sales in your business.

4. Create A Duplicatable System

A blog is your marketing tool. It is your artillery that fires up your business and guess what?!

Once you have a system, that is spinning the wheels for you automatically and creating leads and sales, you can teach your team the same thing.

A blog is not a difficult thing to create. You can provide online tutorials that show your team how to set up their own blog and use it in their businesses.

The same thing goes for sales funnels. These systems are what will help you and your team create huge downlines which only means more money in your pocket.

Most network marketers struggle with distributor retention because they teach their teams to use prospecting and recruitment methods which no longer work today.

With a blog you can create a blueprint that is an easy to follow guide.

What better way to help any network marketer get the results that they want.

Only of course, if they are willing to follow the steps and put the work into it.

5. Have Long Term Success

Some people are put off from creating a blog because they see it as the slower path to success. This is a myth in the blogger’s world.

Blogging is a lot of work as you need to put the time in to create the content but once you have a fully established blog, it does the work for you without you having to be present.

This is why so many bloggers make hundreds of thousands of dollars from content that is produced a year ago. This is the power of having a blog that can generate residual income.

With any business you need to consider the merits of having long term goals. A business that only has a short term vision is more than likely to fail over one that has a long term vision.

By starting your blog now you can set your business to thrive.

You are also more likely to be successful, over those who have no clear plan of how they are going to create a sustainable business.

This is what is most important. If you are continuing to prospect through social media or face to face, you are more than likely to get exhausted.

You are also less likely to have the freedom of time to do whatever you want because you constantly have to be in front of the computer or on the road.

This is not a proper business strategy.

Having a blog is the best way to create longevity in your business.

That time I almost, ALMOST quit my network marketing business…

Can I get absolutely real with you?

About two years into my network marketing business, I was not happy at all. I was tired and on the verge of crashing because it was so darn hard to get people to sign up as distributors and customers.

Then when I did get someone to join me as a distributor, there was little expectation that they would be around a good few months.

Most of the time, the distributors would join and then do absolutely nothing. They would not respond to my texts, no calls, never attend meetings or take part in support groups.

What was I doing wrong?

I thought to myself that if I had to win at network marketing, I had to go the distance myself.

So I buckled down and tried to get as many customers as I could to fill my matrix chart.

I was literally burning the midnight oil and messaging as many people as I can. You know, hoping that the next person would be a yes.

“It was a numbers game” they said.

So I thought, “Ok, Just one more!”

I mean I made some good money in my network marketing business, I made some awesome friends too but

I was also going nuts!

Instead of enjoying my network marketing business, I was constantly pushing every ounce of me to get that next sale.

It was an emotional roller coaster. Some days I was up; other days I was down when I did not get enough customers to hit the bonus.

And truthfully I was not at a level where I was making a massive income yet. I was at a place where after enduring a tiresome 9 to 5, I came home to pretty much hustle in my network marketing business.

That was not what I dreamed of!

Additionally the methods I was using, was not at all sustainable. Certainly, if I wanted to quit my job and work from home full time, what I was doing was NOT working!

Maybe you can relate?

I want to take you on a little journey. I want you to sit back and think about this for a minute:

• Imagine that you could automate your business, so that it works for you; rather than you having to work it. Kind of like a set-it-and-forget-it type of model.
• You can delegate some of your most important tasks to a system so that you can focus on doing other things that mean the most to you.
• Imagine your business making sales whilst you sleep!
• You could put down your phone or step away from your computer for an entire day and not worry about missing prospects coming to your business.
• Imagine not having to go out to the mall or on the streets to look for your next business partner or customer.
• Imagine putting in effort once and having your business run smoothly without you doing a lot of work. At most an hour a day.

Does any of that sound like heaven?

If it does then allow me to introduce you to what literally changed my business:

SALES FUNNELS

What in the world is a sales funnel you may ask?

I get you, because when I first heard of it; I did not understand it myself.

The only thing that came to mind were those funnels that you use to pour water into the neck of a bottle.

But if you have had very little results with your network marketing business or any business for that matter, then I have five words for you:

You’ve been doing it all wrong.

And I really mean this sincerely and is no way intended to sound like I am dragging you down as I was in exactly the same position as you about two years ago.

So I know and I was so glad that someone spoke some sense into my head and taught me a different way.

So stay with me here for a minute and you will see by the end of this post how there is some crazy amazing potential for your network marketing business. I will even show you exactly how to make that happen.

A Case Study For My Network Marketing Business

When I started my network marketing business I knew nothing and I mean nothing about these little things called sales funnels.

I knew nothing about email auto-responders.

I thought traffic was what you saw on the road.

I was a clueless little bunny.

All I knew was what my upline taught me.

That was, to speak to as many people as I can, regardless of who it was and tell them about my business.

I was never told to brand myself. Instead I was told to push the product.

If you want sales, then you have to do whatever you can to get the sales… so do not be afraid to talk about your business.

I took heed and I got to work.

I started posting about my business all over Facebook and Instagram.

I went to beauty events and talked to any and everyone who my eyes would meet.

I cold messaged over a hundred people in a day and got like only two responses.

I messaged all my friends and got ZERO responses.

I went to my nearby salons and asked if anyone was interested.

I handed out cards. Some would wryly laugh as I handed my card and the minute I walked out the door my card was in the bin!

I got doors slammed in my face. I got scornful looks and felt tons of rejection.

In the midst of all of that I got some results (yay!)

But I wanted to quit (boo!)

It was just too much and I literally crashed and burned.

The effort that I was putting into it and the results I was getting was just not worth the effort.

So I did just that. I quit.

Well not my network marketing business. Instead I quit what felt like hustling my business and invested in this marketing training which changed the nature of everything.

I had no idea that everything I was doing, could be done easier and without me putting in so much work.

If someone told you, you could build a business without speaking to anyone, would you believe them?

Well I did not but I was intrigued.

I learnt that with a few good sales funnels and the internet, I could actually reach far more people and never have to speak to a single soul, all on autopilot.

I was like WUH??? Sign me up please!

See all those emails above?

That was all the leads I got into my business, the moment I started implementing what I learnt in the training.

Pay attention to the time as well. Leads like clockwork, all asking me for more information about my business instead of me chasing them. 

Where was this 411 a year ago I thought? Why were they keeping this a secret?

It was a huge relief for me that I did not have to go through literally blood, sweat and tears to promote my business anymore.

So I started building out these sales funnels which were pretty simple to do and used the internet to build my downline and get customers for my products.

If you have ever seen a network marketer’s business explode, chances are they have cracked the code and figured out how to use sales funnels and the internet and are letting it do most of the work for them.

It is a genius idea!

And there’s a snowball effect too. All it takes is for me to keep getting as many people as I can to see my offer on the internet and opt into my sales funnel.

Then the entire sales closing is done for me on the back end by an email autoresponder.

And sales flow in, in what seems to be a magical way.

Those are the number of leads I got into my business within 3 months, whereas before I would probably get about 20 solid leads a month.

All I can say, is the sales on autopilot was enough to convince me that using sales funnels and the internet in my business was a new way of network marketing.

But there is a catch to all this fabulousity.

You cannot  expect to just throw together a sales funnel, put it on the internet and call that George.

You have to be like the strategic marketer.

You have to test your sales funnel, test the content, know what content speaks to your audience, what gets them to click on a button. How do they interact with your website?

Learning all these things are necessary but once you get the hang of it, it is so simple.

“Ok! So I’m sold. But how do I figure out this sales funnel business?”

Today I want to share with you my top five non-negotiable internet marketing tips that are absolutely essential for your growth in your network marketing business.

This is going to start shaking up your business and getting the sales (because well you deserve it).

There are tons of strategies out there but these five hit the nail on the head!

They are a MUST if you want to get going on the right foot.

1. Get a mentor

Get a mentor who knows what they are doing, then model after them.

Remember that this was actually what turned my business around. I took this training given to me by my current mentor then did everything that he said to do.

Show me a successful individual and I’ll show you someone who had real positive influences in his or her life. I don’t care what you do for a living—if you do it well I’m sure there was someone cheering you on or showing the way. A mentor. — Denzel Washington

2. Create your own internet hub

Create your own internet hub where you can tell the world about you and begin to brand you.

My best take away from all of this is never ever EVER brand the company that you are with. Because one day that company will disappear and no one will really know who you are. You always want to brand yourself first.

3. Build sales funnels

Create a sales funnel using sales funnel builders such as Clickfunnels or LeadPages so that you can capture your leads.

This is how you get leads automatically to your business. When you have a piece of equipment that does the “talking” for you, you barely need to lift a finger to convince anyone. The lead page does all the heavy lifting.

4. Connect your lead page to your offer

This is how you are building your sales funnel. Ideally your lead page should be connected to a bridge page then to the sales page for better conversions. Either way just make sure that when the lead opts in, they have a destination to go to which ultimately is your offer.

5. Focus on sending as many people as you can to your lead page

Here I would use advertisements such as Google, Bing or Facebook ads. You can also use something called solo ads.

This is where people outside of your close circle will see your ad. It is where you have access to the whole world instead of friends on your Facebook profile or neighbours on your street.

And trust me these strategies are not even scratching the surface.

There is so much more you can learn to optimise your results and get more sales in your network marketing business and see the type of growth that top earners have.

But I have an itsy bitsy disclaimer and that is, it really will take you months to piece everything together.

Yes, free is great but not so great all the time.

How free works, is that you will get loads of information. That can cause overwhelm and usually there is no structure when you do not know exactly what you are looking for.

How To Grow Fast In Network Marketing

The smartest thing that you can do, is actually learn from the people who have done it before and who has a structured plan so you get all the roads that you need to take to lead to your final destination.

Do not make the mistake of becoming lost and trying to figure stuff out yourself.

I mean I can figure things out on my own but I prefer to figure things out quickly and more efficiently.

How exactly are you growing your network marketing business? What strategies are you using that works or do not work?

When I started network marketing, the one problem that I had was getting clients for my business and recruiting team members.

You see, I was the introvert. I was overwhelmed and frankly scared as hell when it came to prospecting both for selling products and building a team.

I remember in my first network marketing business, I asked my best friend to be my first customer, which she did.

Thank goodness for that but she became my only customer. LOL

After her, I had no idea how and where to find other customers until I jumped on social media and started busting my butt looking for my new shining stars.

But it did come with heavy lifting… and a lot of it.

If I could start again, I know I would do a lot more things differently because three years on, I have learnt so much.

As I connect with more network marketers, who are just starting their business, I find that they are repeating the same mistakes I made.

I have realised that there is the old way and the new way to network marketing. How do I know this?

Because when I was doing things the old way, I was recruiting no more than five people in a month. When I was doing it the new way, I was recruiting more than 20 people in a month!

How did I do this? By simply using strategic investments and creating a marketing strategy that works! A marketing strategy that I only learnt through my mentor.

I mean after two and half years of getting it wrong and six months of getting it right, I have turned my business over tremendously where I am now recruiting people into my business effortlessly.

And this is what inspired this blog post.

When you focus on using the right strategies to build any business, whether it is network marketing or online marketing, you generally come out as the winner.

So Here Are My Top 10 Network Marketing Tips For Guaranteed Success That You Can Use

If you follow these tips consistently, it can make a massive impact in your business.

#1 Have The Right Business Mindset

Starting a network marketing business is not a hobby. You are starting a business.

The problem with most people who join network marketing is that they are attracted by the claim that you can make a “full time income with part time effort”, but what they do not realise is that in order to reach that level, it takes hard work.

When I started network marketing, I envisioned quitting my job and working full time on my business (which thankfully I have achieved).

I sacrificed a lot of things to get here.

There were times that I did not want to do the work but had it not been for my work ethic, I would not be where I am now.

You probably have heard this before but as cliched as it is, you must treat your business as a business; not a hobby.

Also self investment is crucially important. There are people who have a fear of investing money into their businesses because they see it as either spending money or wasting money.

But the most successful network marketers are those who invested in coaching, courses, mentoring, tools and resources to run their business.

No one says you have to invest huge chunks of money at one time but it is always best, if you want to see the growth that other successful network marketers are having.

#2 Don’t Fake It

True story! I had a long time friend who I had not seen in years. We spoke now and again but I would say we lost touch of each other.

When I joined my network marketing business, you know how they say to contact everyone on your phone contact list, regardless of who it is??

Well that was me. I called my friend to “catch up” with her. Of course she was surprised to hear from me and rightfully so.

So when I told her that I joined a network marketing business and I had some “really amazing products that could help her” – yes I used those exact words – she immediately knew what was up with me.

You do not want to do that! Do not be the fake friend.

If you want to be successful in your business, be genuine. If you think that contacting a long time friend just to try to sell them a product is uncomfortable, then DO NOT do it.

There are many more ways you can actually get a sale without bugging those “friends” who really are not your friends.

#3  Leverage Social Media

If you do not know by now, social media is huge for building your business.

Everyday I connect with so many people who are successful and also not so successful.

But I know that I have one thing that I can offer to them and that is value. This is how I was able to recruit five people in a day from Facebook and Pinterest.

My biggest tip for growing your business with social media, is find one or two platforms and master them.

“Jack of all trades master of none” can actually hurt your business when you are spreading yourself thin and trying to do everything at once.

I agree that any social media platform is great for networking and prospecting but you will never be an expert if you are trying to grow an audience over all platforms.

Some of the best platforms you can try are:

Facebook

Invest in Facebook ads to connect with people who may be interested in what you have to offer.

Facebook ads is a very powerful platform that allows marketers to put their offer in front of the right people which can help generate consistent sales of your product.

When I first started network marketing, I was told by my upline to join Facebook groups where people promote business opportunities or sell products.

Your first thoughts may be that it’s free so why not try it, but I do not think this is the best source of traffic for your business as you may see little to no results from this. 

If you are serious about growing your business and making money from it, then I’d recommend investing in paid advertising to show your product to targeted people who are more likely to take action.

Not only will you save time, but you can see a huge return on your investment when you run your ad campaigns properly.  Just like I did when I made near to 3x return on my investment promoting a credit repair product using Facebook ads.

Before investing in Facebook ads I do recommend that you learn how to use the platform. This will help take away all the frustration that you are likely to encounter, when you do not get the results that you want.

Pinterest

Have you ever created a Pinterest account and all you ever did was pin your favourite recipes, fashion and design inspirations?

Me too.

In the past I used Pinterest to save outfit ideas for the summer. Now I use Pinterest for business.

How does Pinterest actually work for businesses and how can it work for you? Pinterest is a great platform for businesses who promote their products or services with a blog.

As a network marketer, it is a good idea to have a blog where you can provide useful information to people who want to know more about your products and help raise awareness of your brand.

If you have never considered writing a blog for your business then head on over to my post where I share more about why a network marketing blog is great for business.

You can actually start a blog in under 15 minutes and for as low as $3.95/month with Bluehost and WordPress. 

If you do have a blog but don’t have readers or visitors, here’s how you can use Pinterest to get visitors who are likely to take profitable action. That means, they buy your products!

1. First create a Pinterest business account.
2. Next verify your website.
3. Apply for Rich Pins which will add extra details to your pins from your website.
4. Join group boards on Pinterest that are related to your niche
5. Start pinning to the group boards

Follow the above steps consistently and watch how your traffic levels increase. Make sure that your blog provides valuable content that helps your readers solve their problem so they can take action such as buying your recommended products.

Using Pinterest to grow this blog has been very rewarding. In fact, I would have not known the power of Pinterest had it not been for a Pinterest growth course called the Pinterest Traffic Avalanche by Alex Nerney and Lauren McManus.

YouTube

Create videos that provide valuable content. You can easily make a search in YouTube for some of the keywords that people are using in respect of network marketing.

Once you have a handful of keywords, create a video around those keywords.

The most successful videos are How To videos.

Do not worry if you do not know what to talk about.

Take a look at other people who have created the same content and put that content in your own words. Be confident when you speak about it.

Once you have created your content include your referral link in the description box of YouTube so you will get credit for any product you recommend that is purchased.

Instagram

Instagram is a picture platform that allows you to create lifestyle posts, motivational and inspirational posts as well as product posts.

When used right, this can help grow your business by showing other people what your network marketing business is doing for you and how your products have helped you and other people.

As usual you want to create value posts. Posts that speak about how your business has changed your life or you can even share other people’s success stories.

#4 Your Business Is Never About You

It took me a while to understand this next point but when I got it, I had an a-ha moment.

When you start a business, you must start your business with the prospect in mind. At the end of the day, your business is there to serve other people.

It is never there to serve you!

As a network marketer, if you want people to consider doing business with you, learn how to provide helpful content that will genuinely help your audience solve a problem.

Here are some ideas:

• Share different ways of how the product has helped you.
• Share tips of how your product can help other people.
• Share how the product made other people feel. For example, do you have testimonials to prove that other people are using the product and like it? Then share that.

When you work on serving more people, they will come to you instead of you chasing them.

#5 Leverage The Internet

A lot of people come to me and ask me how did I grow so fast?

My response: the internet.

A few years ago, belly-to-belly network marketing was a good way to market your business. If you were comfortable prospecting on the streets, at the malls or beauty fairs then you may have gotten a few good sales or leads into your business.

But for someone who was an introvert and having anxiety when it came to approaching a prospect, doing it this way was never ideal.

Instead after a couple years of trying and seeing no major shift in my business, I turned to the internet on the advice of my mentor and boy was I glad I did.

It was the best thing that I could do for my business because it allowed me to reach far more people than I could speak to in a day offline.

Using the internet and other advertising strategies helped me to make hundreds of product sales and build a team of over 110 personally sponsored people in under two months. This was by far the most important change and achievement in my business.

I know that there are still a lot of network marketers who do not want to invest in advertising strategies but there was a reason why the number one tip was to have a business mindset.

There are many platforms that you can use to advertise your business. Simply choose one and master it.

And if you are worried about the huge influx of prospects that will more than likely come into your business, then the next tip goes hand in hand.

#6 Leverage Marketing Systems

I do not know why most network marketers are against this idea but for me it is a no-brainer!

If you want to grow your network marketing business fast and successfully, you need to know how to use marketing tools to automate your business.

You can take all the hard work out of what you would normally do and give it to a “system” to do on your behalf.

This is how I was able to “speak” to over one thousand people in a day about my business and ended up closing thirty sales.

You see, marketing tools allow you to show your prospect, your product or opportunity, without you speaking to them. You simply set up a website or lead capture page and an email autoresponder communicates with them.

Whilst the prospecting part can be automated, you still need to build relationships with them so consider ways that you can build that relationship by offering coaching or mentoring that teaches the lead how to grow their own business.

Technology has literally changed how fast I grew my business and has helped me fulfil my dreams of travelling as often as I can.

#7 Teach Your Team Duplication

When I learnt how to use marketing systems to grow my business, I taught my team the same thing.

This is how you can grow your team to over thousands of members in a short space of time.

Something that works for you and is so easy to replicate can help other struggling team members.

When you introduce these systems into your team it is a win-win.

It helps the team member build their team quicker, make more product sales and puts money in everyone’s pocket.

I still use this strategy every day and encourage anyone looking to build a solid foundation, to find a strategy that works for you and then share it with your teams. They will then share it in their own teams and so on and so on.

#8 Get A Mentor

So I have mentioned a few times in this blog post about the recommendations made to me by my mentor.

Having a mentor was the first step I took to transforming my business.

Granted I paid him for his services but in return I was given valuable information that helped me and my business catapult into success.

When looking for a mentor, find ideally two people. One within your business, who is where you want to be and another outside of your business who can teach you a skillset that is important to be successful in your business.

Subscribe to their courses or coaching programs and listen to and DO EVERYTHING that they say.

The doing part is what is important.

You want to take massive action on the ideas that they have given to you. At the end of the day, they got to where they are because of the tips they shared.

Don’t you want to be there too?

The one advice I can give to you, do not be afraid to invest in the services of your mentors. I have spent thousands on courses and programs that has helped to improve my skills tremendously.

I am now using those same skills to build my business and  provide value to the marketplace.

#9 Believe In Yourself

Not only having a business mindset but also a positive mindset is key to helping you achieve your goals.

When you have a positive mindset you attract positive things into your life. You must also have a strong belief that you can achieve your goals.

When you doubt yourself you are more than likely to avoid taking action which only leads to procrastination.

People who are unsuccessful have those major stumbling blocks.

Until they get out of that funk they will never have the life that they truly deserve.

If you are stuck in a toxic mindset then I recommend improving your personal development with personal development books.

#10 Never Quit And Be Consistent

Consistency is key and the ones who never give up, come out successful.

Network marketing is not a get rich quick gig. But if you give it time, nurture it, be disciplined, take action and be consistent you can accomplish that goal of being a top income earner or achieve the success that you want, however you define that success.

I will not lie, there will be challenges. There will be times that you will want to quit but embrace your journey with gratitude and keep moving.

There are so many things that I have learnt on my own journey that I can now give back in this blog. This is why I want to help many people become true online entrepreneurs and build their brand successfully because I have learnt so much.

And one day you will too. You will be able to use the highs and lows in a positive way to keep building you.

Most people want to start a small business or home based business but understandably they do not want to go in the red before they come out green.

I will add my own disclaimer here right from the start – you really cannot start a solid business without investing some money first.

If you ask any successful business owner if it cost them zero dollars to make the type of income that they have from their business, I am pretty sure that their answer will be NO.

So always be conscious of that.

If your goal is to start a small business or home based business and you do not want to break the bank, here are some free tools and resources that you can use so you do not have to feel like more money is going out than coming in.

1. Websites

With any business you first of all need a home where you can brand yourself or showcase your products to your audience.

A brick and mortar store has an offline location where an online business has a website.

If you are serious about creating a business and brand and you have long term goals then it is strongly recommended that you create a self hosted website with WordPress. 

That way you own your “home” and you can be as creative as you like without the worry that it can one day be “repossessed”.

It also looks more professional and your audience is more than likely to take you seriously.

The problem with free websites, is that most of the time you are limited in what you can do. All the work that you put into it can be taken away from you if the host provider does not agree with it. 

There is also the fact that your website URL may look unappealing as it may carry the host provider’s subdomain if you do not get your own custom domain. This in my view is unattractive and unprofessional.

But I understand that sometimes you may not be able to afford a website so here are a few that you can use until you are in a position to buy your own.

If you are using any of these free websites, be careful to avoid putting too much work into it because one day you will want to upgrade to a paid website.

To make money in any business you should always find ways to market your business.

This is how you get people to see your business and know that you exist.

Marketing on free platforms does take time and to see really good results your efforts must be consistent.

If you are an online entrepreneur, there is no doubt that from time to time you will need some training that will take away all the guess work.

We need direction most of the time when we are venturing into something new. Do not waste time trying to figure everything out when an online training course could give you exactly what you need.
